Tifani Triumph: Life of Crime Years Part 4/Business Years Part 3/The Other House

Janabel:  FIZZY!!!
Me:  You bellowed?
Janabel:  HOW. DARE. YOU.
Me:  What did I dare? I haven't done that it a day or so, dare anyone that is.
Janabel: STOP!  JUST LOOK AT THIS.
Me:  Oh, wow, I barely noticed.  Congratulations.  You must have just found out.
Janabel:  STOP WITH THE POPPYCOCK!  I KNOW YOU DID THIS!
Me:  You can stop yelling now.  I think they can hear you in the next town over. Seriously, what's the problem? Paul turned out amazing don't you think?
Janabel:  Stop.  Enough already.  What have you done?
Me:  Again, it doesn't look like I was the one doing stuff.
Janabel:  I don't like you.  You know exactly what I mean.
Me:  Well, that's wonderful that you don't like me.  I'm so offended by that statement.  Guess what? It doesn't matter what you think of me.  It's really more important what I think of you doncha think?
Janabel:  Oh blessed tomatoes!  Stop already.  Birth control.  I have birth control.  And don't give me that whole 'it's not 100% effective' line of popcorn again.
Me:  Well, now that we are educated on birth control effectiveness.  You mean you had birth control?  And you took it every day?   Followed the directions exactly?  Read the inserts and everything?
Janabel:  I. DON'T. LIKE. YOU.  Just stop.
Me:  You are the one who's birth control failed, not me. I'm just making sure there was no user error to change the effective rate is all.

Janabel:  Why do I bother?

I guess you could say that Janabel is not overly happy about having another child.  Oops!  Before we just into her crazy world let's check out what the 'normal' children are up to in the other house.
Long story short, Abigail grew to toddler and child, Delilah grew to an adult, a couple of promotions for everyone but always having high social makes it hard to maintain outside friendships.  Short story long Abigail had a couple of glitches were when daddy laid her down she just hung out in front of him, suspended, while he cleaned up the kitchen.  When mommy went to put her in the crib before heading to the mirror to work on her charisma skill mommy ended up carrying her with her.  Abigail tried to help out, while creating a pretty cute photo op!  Now that is serious mommy and daddy skills~  Abigail learned all her toddler skills with days to spare thanks to her doting Aunt Delilah and grew up to a child in platinum.  She's working hard and being a good kid but there's just so much mischief to get into, and keeping happy is sometimes difficult.  Delilah has decided to stick around with her brother and sister-in-law for a while.  With no man on the horizon and no real need to get her own place just yet it makes sense to stay together as a family, for now.

Meanwhile, back at the Main house...

Janabel made me suffer through her pregnancy, it really wasn't that bad but the evil looks made me nervous, and had a beautiful baby girl named Martha.
What you don't see is that Janabel is just planning to lay her on the floor...her time is done.  Daddy runs to the rescue and whisks her to the fridge for her first of 5 million bottles and then with some coaxing to her crib upstairs.

Some days of just working in skills and trying to keep friendships up for promotions and before you know it Martha is about to become a toddler.

She is completely  Daddy's girl and Randy works with her to gain all her toddler skills.  Janabel, well she's prime for a promotion and can't take her eye off the prize.  Her ultimate goal in life.

Janabel:  Hey, Almighty Fizzy Thing.
Me:  Yes dear.
Janabel:  What do you have to say now?
Me:  About?
Janabel:  My promotion.  Thought I couldn't do it didn't ya?
Me:  I never said couldn't.  I said shouldn't.  Big difference.
Janabel:  Tomato, potato, whatever.

The first household member to rise to the top of the underworld becomes part of the “family”. While the household does not get a cut of the profits, they no longer have to pay any protection money. The Life of Crime restriction is lifted.
With her only life goal under her belt Janabel grow bored quickly and her roaming eye finds a target. One of her old Silver Hair team.  Neil.  And before long there is trouble brewing.

You know where this is headed doncha?

And she sure isn't speaking to me right now.

Janabel:  Neil, we have a problem.
Neil:  We?
Janabel:  You swore I wouldn't get pregnant.  You said it was 'fixed' so yes WE have a problem.
Neil:  You swore you were on birth control so there would be no problem.  So looks like YOU have a problem.
Janabel:  Is it 'fixed' or not?!?
Neil:  Are you on birth control or not?  Is it even mine or not?
Janabel:  I hate you!

And Randy?  Clueless.  Poor guy, while this is all going on his biggest want is to have a baby.

While Janabel is busy not speaking to me, Martha grows from a toddler, with full skills thanks to Daddy to a child.  Seriously, what is with this family.  Generation after generation they have major life events in the bathroom!
The very next day Randy maxes out his Business career.  He really is excited, I promise.  He's just also really unhappy in the fun department.  And he doesn't even know yet that the baby isn't his!
Once an economic leader from the family rebuilds the economic structure of the region, the Business restrictions are lifted. In addition, the Open/Closed sign may be purchased and used from the Miscellaneous Decorative category. The old-style cash register may be purchased from the Electronics tab, even if these items are still restricted otherwise.
The next day Paul ages to teen and it's time for the usual chat.  Paul is a good kid, a smart kid really and I know that despite his mother, really she didn't raise him, he has a bright future.

Me: Paul, have time for a chat?
Paul:  Sure Fizzy.  Though I'm pretty certain I know where this is going.
Me:  Oh?  Spill.
Paul:  I've been talking to Dad.  I know that it's time I figure out what I want to do with my life and that you have a list of choices for me to go over and choose from.
Me:  You are quite smart as that is exactly what we need to chat about.  As the leader of the next generation it is up to you to select a career path to follow.  And later, to chose a spouse that will help this family forward.  But no rush there, seriously.
Paul:  I've thought about it.  I'm not certain what you have available for me but I know that I want to work in housing.  This house is cramped.  There's barely room to turn around when everyone is home.  And we are the lucky ones.  Have you seen some of the 'houses' people are forced to live in due to lack of appropriate materials?
Me:  Oh, soft hearted one aren't ya?  I think I have exactly the career path you are looking for here in my list.  Architecture.
Paul took the list and actually looked over every single item.  And that night went with his dad downtown to apply for the job.
The nuclear meltdown and resulting steam explosion contaminated the local area, including the buildings. Their structural integrity lost, many buildings simply collapsed while others were condemned due to heavy radiation. As the survivors cling to life, they resort to building basic shelters to protect themselves from the elements. Without proper knowledge of building safety requirements, these shelters were kept as simple as possible to avoid risk of collapse. Making do with scraps of wood, carpet, metal, mortar, and bricks, survivors no longer dream of building beautiful abodes.

Before we leave this week with the Triumph family a new family member would like to make their debut as well.
Janabel:  FIZZY!
Me:  Oh goodness, is it baby time?
Janabel:  I BEYOND CAN'T STAND YOU!
Me:  Just relax, you know it will be over before you know it.  Another baby to love.
Janabel:  WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?
Me:  Stop yelling, seriously the whole community doesn't need in on this.
Janabel:  Why?  Why are you doing this to me?  What have you done?
Me:  Again, perhaps anatomy needs to be studied.  I am not 'doing' anything.  You are.
Janabel:  What did you do to my birth control?  I know you did something.  Neil is a creetin liar 'fixed' my pregnant tummy.
At that point baby Peter joins the family and Janabel immediately hands him over to Paul and heads back to bed.

Should I tell her the whole story or leave her guessing?  Until next time...

Tifani Triumph: Life of Crime Years Part 3 /Business Years Part 2/Moving Out

If I remember correct Janabel wasn't all that thrilled with finding herself pregnant.  Not that she had a choice but still.  The Almighty Ruler of Everything gets what she wants...not Janabel.  While she doesn't get that yet, keep pushing my buttons little pixilated one and you will know, oh how you will know.
During that time Solomon grew up to adulthood and soon heeded our prior conversation and moved himself and his sister Delilah out of the house and into their own place.  Shortly after they settled in Delilah decided to pursue a career in culinary and Solomon met Kristy and it wasn't long before the red hearts started to float.
Why yes, they did date, get engaged and get married all in the same night!  Though I think the whole forever thing was a bit of a blow to the romance ego of Samson. They also ran smack into parenthood as well and before long baby Abigail was born.  Meanwhile Delilah just kept doing her own thing...nothing special or overly dramatic in her teenage world (I know write it down, no drama for a teen!)
Meanwhile, back at the main house...
Janabel sailed through her pregnancy eating everything in sight.  I think she might have even emptied to fridge all by herself.  Ok, not really but geez the girl was constantly hungry.  However, before long baby Paul joined the family...and Janabel was more than happy to had him off to Daddy and Isiah.

While Paul is busy growing up and being coddled by Isiah, Janabel and Flattop dive head first into their careers.  A few promotions here and there, no real help or hindrance, from chance cards to guide their way.  Though Janabel has developed a roaming eye, not that Flattop has noticed, and not that she has had time to act on it.  Career grind time is on.  Meanwhile Isiah is pouring all his attention between baby Paul and flirting with his wife.
Paul grows from infant to toddler with Daddy there to help.  Isiah then kicks into gear and works hard to build Paul's toddler skills.  With lots of time, patience, and love Paul maxes them out before becoming a child.

In the intervening time however the family loses Kaylynn to her date with Grim, never getting to see the grandchild she longed for become a child.
Even Janabel put on a good show.
During her years with this family Kaylynn worked hard to raise a family while also climbing the rigorous career of Law.  She managed to raise 2 good children and well, Janabel.  She also managed to secure a future for the community with a solid foundation of law and a court system that can be utilized by law enforcement to prosecute criminals.  She also provided the ability for families, individuals even, to be able to adopt pets and children in need of decent loving homes.  While also ensuring that children could move to their own homes and begin to rebuild a population where homes aren't sparsely spread out but a real sense of community where you can visit your neighbor and your children can secure their own legacies, and future.
Isiah is heartbroken. Kaylynn was the love of his life.  There was never a day he didn't admire as she walked past, flirt, and just appreciate the woman he chose to spend his life with.  It wasn't but a few days later, the day they had planned to celebrate Paul's birthday to childhood, that Isiah also had his date with Grim.  At least in the family graveyard Isiah and Kaylynn are back together.
Isiah was a well loved child, growing up to chose  path of law enforcement.  Ensuring that there would be emergency services for all sims as well as an active police force to deal with criminals and troubled individuals.  Isiah loved his family and managed to raise two very responsible children, and Janabel.  He truly leaves a legacy of security and love for those ahead.
At the time Grim and his hula girls come to visit Paul ages from toddler to child.  While it was a positive experience for him to grow up it was also devastating to lose his Isiah at the same time.
Janabel nor Flattop have yet maxed their careers, but before his death Isiah had a strong want to have another grandchild.  I thought I'd make him happy with the lose of Kaylynn but he didn't live long enough to see the fruits of his want.  However, Janabel did... And she got promoted to Smuggler, getting closer to Criminal Mastermind.
I'm gonna dash before she puts two and two together...see ya next time!

Tifani Triumph: Life of Crime Years Part 2 /Business Years Part 1

Last we met Janabel had just aged to adult and her entire world fell apart.  Aspiration failure at it's finest.  I know it's not nice to poke but here's another picture of her with the Shrink just to get you in the right mood.
She recovered with time.  And started trying to get Randy (Flattop..finally remembered to write down his name) over when she wasn't off to work or falling down tired so she could get him moved in and engaged.  Randy moved in with $19,000 in funds!  He is also a money sim like Janabel and immediately accepted the proposal for engagement.
A quick fact check and I was happily relieved that Flattop had left behind is criminal ways of teenage-hood and chosen to pursue a path in the Business career.  That is a career choice that remains available for tier 2 but I will let him decide.  I will never have a Sim say that I didn't give them a choice.
Me:  Hey, Flattop.  Let's chat.
Randy:  So this must be the legendary Almighty Ruler of Everything.  I respect you for your role but please, I also have a name.
Me:  Whoa, manners, I like that.  Sorry about that.  I'm legendarily notorious for being bad with names.  I'll try to remember for the future Randy.  And you can call me Fizzy.  Most everyone here does.
Randy: I am to understand that you will talk to me about my career choices and impress upon me the important role I am chosing to take on for the community by marrying into this family correct?
Me:  You are partly correct.  My habits seem to be getting around.  I have to say I'm very proud to see that you have chosen to leave behind the criminal ways and have set yourself up quite successfully in business.  Are you happy with your career?  It is an available career choice for you but I want to make sure you are aware of the options you do have.
Randy: I am very happy with my current career path and am pleased to know that I will be able to continue to develop my career in this area.
Me:  Good to hear.  Do you mind if I asked what led you to the criminal career path as a teen?
Randy:  You may ask.  There is only one reason, Janabel.  I knew she was the one for me and choosing to align myself into something that would bring out paths together made the most sense to develop a friendship with her.  Following her career seemed the easiest way to ensure that happened.
Me:  Stalker much?
Randy: What you calling stalking I prefer to refer to as creating opportunities.  There was no guarantee that we would become friends, much less more.  However, the opportunity presented itself and I chose to pursue it to see where it led.  I am happy that I took that opportunity and that our relationship blossomed to where we are today.
Me: Alrighty.  Your formality is a little intense.  Not a judgement, just trying to gather my thoughts and figure out how to not offend you.  Um, so.  You are a smart man, you have spent considerable time with Janabel.  You have agreed to marry her.  You are aware that you are not signing up for all red hearts and perfect dates?
Randy: No offense taken.  I too, come from a family that has worked hard to restore order to our community.  I understand what is at stake for all of us.  I also understand that Janabel is different.  Special if you will.  Her ideas about society are varied, sometimes brillant and sometimes frightening.  But I also firmly believe that she does love me as I love her.  I am commited for both of us to overcome the obstacles that may impede our success.
Me:  Good talk. Chat again sometime.  Please, never hesitate to reach out to me as you navigate life with Janabel.  I will always be here to offer encouragement and whatever assistance I can.
“Your money is no good here.”
The chaos in the region set off by the power plant explosions has broken down the basic economic fabric of society. The value of a Simolean varies wildly from place to place. All major markets have been destroyed or looted dry. With the economy of the region in shambles, people are unwilling to go shopping. The only thing that sells well are stories from survivors, as media outside the region is hungry to know what happened and what it is like to live in such a land.
Can we say denial?  Flattop is in for a hard trip through life, of that I am certain.  I am happy that he is set in this career as he is already a Vice President and with his determination he should do well to quickly move up the ranks.  Meanwhile Delilah grew into her teen years, and it wasn't quite the positive transition that I had hoped but no aspiration failure for this young lady.  For obvious reasons her aspiration was set to Romance, no generator required.
What is it with these genetics and life events happening in the bathroom!?!  I'm throwing in the bottom picture just because I really like it....you have to indulge the Ruler you know.
It wasn't long before Mom and Dad discovered what Janabel was all about.  She was hard to miss coming and going in her criminal uniform.  The insuing 'discussion' was rather heated and left Isiah and Kaylynn's heads reeling and disappointed.  Doubting themselves as parents, doubting themselves as community pillars, doubting themselves as law enforcement and lawyer.  Meanwhile Janabel felt pretty smug and arrogant about it all.  She knows that disappointment will never overshadow love.  Love is weakness.  She will never be weak.
To smooth things over Janabel proposed marriage to Randy and they wed in the living room.
One must wonder if the way the rings X in the photo if it is a portent of things to come?
Do you notice Isiah and Kaylynn in the background reliving their own wedding day?  They are still very much in love and can't keep their hands, or eyes, off each other.  Poor Randy, so much in love.  Truly love.  He has no idea that Janabel doesn't know love.

As they settle into marriage and score a few promotions each Sampson has chosen to join the military and soon ages to an adult.
While he has a desire to move out he has not yet taken the leap to do so.  Whether it's fear of the unknown, fear for his parents, or just laziness coming back into play I don't know but I'll have to give him a little nudge so he remembers our conversation.  In case you didn't notice the other glaringly obvious new development in the photo I guess I'll share that with you now as well.
Do you see the look of horror on her face?
Janabel:  FIZZY!
Me:  Yes dear?
Janabel:  What is this!?!
Me:  Well, if by this you mean your tummy I would guess that you are expecting.  Congratulations!
Janabel:  That is exactly what I mean!  I have birth control.  Doo Rag worked hard to ensure that I have birth control.  I have no intentions of having children.  They are whiny, needy, annoying creatures.  Explain this!
Me:  Dear, we all know that birth control is not 100% effective.  However, not having a child is not an option. Only you can secure the next generation of this family.  Perhaps it's best to have a child now while you are still young.
Janabel:  I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT 100!  THAT IS NOT THAT POINT!  ONE TIME.  ONE TIME AND THIS HAPPENS.  WHAT DID YOU DO?
Me:  Calm down, it's not good for the baby to be yelling like this.  I didn't 'do' anything, but apparently you did.  I promise once that baby is here you will realize how blessed you are to have a tiny piece of you to carry forward.
Janabel: UGH.

That went well...

Tifani Triumph: Life of Crime Years Part 2

Last we left Janabel had thrown a pretty vicious curve into the smooth, if not minimalistic, workings of this family. I think we might have raised a sociopath. We had made it together through the odds and seem to be smooth sailing. Never fear, given enough rope she will give the Almighty Ruler of Everything enough to reign her in.  Meanwhile Kaylynn worked hard, persevered and achieved The Law!  Something good had to come out of the last chapter.
Meanwhile little Samson has grown into a teenager.  He knows that he has no real place in the hierarchy.  Janabel has made that abundantly clear with her arrogance and condensation toward the 'spares'.  I think however, with recent events as they are I need to have a small conversation with Samson and give him a course for the future.
Me:  Samson!  Stop that right now!
Samson: Huh, um, Fizzy?
Me:  Please don't jump on the furniture.  Now sit down, you and I need to have a chat.
Samson:  Ok.  But I'm a spare remember, we don't need to have your 'chat'.
Me:  Oh dear sweet boy.  If you only knew.  Two things I need to share with you and both are very important.
Samson:  Cool.  Shoot.
Me:  Now that your Mom has become The Law it allows for you to actually move out of the house when you grow up.  Secondly, your sister has expressed some ideas, thoughts really, that lead me to believe the smartest thing you can do is get a job now.  Start a career, and move out of the house as soon as you can.  Or at least once Mom and Dad pass away.  I don't think staying here is going to be the best thing for you, or Delilah.
Samson:  I have to move out?  Wait?  Whoa.  I get to move out?  Yes!
Me:  Don't forget the job part.  There's no way to support yourself and keep yourself and future family safe if you don't actually have a job.
Samson:  Well gravy.  Um, do you have a list for me?
Me:  You don't need a list.  Any available career is yours for the taking.  Listen, we won't speak of this again but remember what I said.  Move out.  At the latest move out when Mom and Dad pass away but regardless.  Make a plan to get yourself out of this house and into your own.
Samson:  Cloak and dagger, I like it.  Thanks Fizzy.

While Samson is growing to a teen and trying to decide his future path little sister Delilah is growing into a precious child.
I'm so excited, and toes are crossed that hopefully she is nothing like her older sister!

Meanwhile, I guess we should get back to dear Janabel, the actual chosen heir of this family.  Would things be different if I'd noticed her tendency toward crazy when she was young?  Probably not, I really think losing her PawPaw was a catalyst for her.  And that couldn't have been predicted.

Janabel is rising fast in the teen career track as a criminal.  With her previous connections it only makes sense I guess.  Teach me to trust in cute little old people walking the neighborhood.  Should have know it was a criminal, nefarious element. Though we did get lucky with Kaylynn as a walkby.  Anyway, back on target.  Janabel has met someone she is convinced is perfect for her.  Let's call him Flattop, name remembrance isn't my forte remember. I'll get back to you with that later.  She's brought him home from work a couple of times and there seems to be a budding relationship there.
He is a little cutie, I know you can't see his face here so just trust me.  Janabel asked him to go steady and he accepted.  Here's hoping he makes better choices as an adult that he has as a teen in the career market.

Janabel has found her love, or whatever someone like her thinks love is, and is ready to become an adult and apparently lead the charge to unlock The Life of Crime career path for the community.  I mean I guess there is a good side in that we don't have to give away half our value every week.  But still.
Why yes, Janabel just became an adult.  And yes you do see that she went into immediate aspiration failure.  And by golly that shrink did show up to 'try' to help her.  I swear it wasn't intentional.  I honestly didn't even realize it was going to throw her into failure.  Not that I could have stopped a birthday, mind you.  I've tried in my own world very unsuccessfully.  I know it's mean to almost feel like I might be poking a bit of fun at her but how do you capture 'this moment' in just one photograph.  I completely deserved a collage and I will stand by that decision...until the next blog post.

Tifani Triumph: The Law Years Part 2/Life of Crime Years Part 1

Welcome back!  Looking back Janabel, the first girl child of the Apocalypse had just aged to a child after spending her toddler years been taught and coddled by her PawPaw.  We also lost Sophie to her date with Grim.
Shortly after Janabel's age transition her dear PawPaw also discovered that he had a date with Grim as well.  She was a blessed little girl to have been such a good, if not smothering during infancy, hobby for Adam. Adam worked hard during his teen and early adult years next to his dad in the medical field.  After Doo Rag actually managed to reach the pinnacle of the career field Adam chose to change paths to the Natural Science career.  On his first day of work Adam managed a random, correctly answered, chance card that rocketed him to Ecological Guru, providing sims near and far with gardens, flowers, trees, and lawns again.  Nothing really grows in the constant winter weather but the options are there once the climate is once again controlled.

Adam passed away in platinum aspiration and Grim appeared for a luau, hula girls and all, though they were sideways in the kitchen...still not sure how did managed that.

Moving forward, society may not forget Adam anytime soon, but there is more living to do.  And a unique situation, for me, to handle.  Isiah and Kaylynn both spun the want to have a baby.  At the same time.  Now, bear in mind that while the house is two story there is only an 8x8 footprint for the house.  And no one, no one, can move out for any reason just now.  Do I, as the Almighty Ruler of Everything, give them this want or deny it?  It was hard.  But then a misclick on my part and it happened anyway.  They are expecting, again.  My luck will be twins.  Please, no twins.  Toes totally crossed.
Not much later Janabel was graced with a little brother.  She's not sure, yet, how she feels about that but meet baby Samson.
Janabel is really struggling without her PawPaw.  Isiah and Sophie attempt to interest her in continuing her home education with little success.  She spends a lot of time in the cemetery and with some elderly neighborhood walkers.  Honestly she sorta pretends her brother doesn't exist.  Meanwhile Kaylynn keeps going to work everyday, happy, skills in place, requisite number of friends and no promotions.  Not even a chance card.  These guys are starting to bore me I tell ya. Samson grows into a cute toddler while Kaylynn and Isiah both want another child.  I must be drinking their crazy juice because I let them and along comes baby Delilah, another girl!  Kaylynn better get these promotions and unlock her career so that I can move these spares out!

Much like his father before him, only with his own children and not his grandchildren, Isiah ensures that Delilah gets a bottle every 5 minutes and never gets to sleep while also ensuring that Samson gets all of his toddler skills down pat.  When Delilah is born Kaylynn is just 3 days from elder.  At two days the woman pops another want for another child.  Lo and behold Isiah did as well!  I had to sit them down and have a wee chat about Simopause and how it was not, could not, even if it could over my dead body was not happening.  Did Doo Rag not educate them?  I mean he was a medical pioneer, he had to know this stuff!  No! More! Babies!

Kaylynn is making slow progress up the career ladder as the season turns to a bunch of birthdays. Janabel turns to a teen, Samson a child, Delilah a toddler and Kaylynn an elder all over two days time!
With no pressure for Janabel to have to get a job right away as the family is more than loaded, even with paying the weekly protection fees, I just let her know where her options lie and let tell her to get back to me when she's decided.  Not even 24 hours later she requested a private meeting in the upstairs bedroom.
Janabel: Hey, Almighty?  Can we chat?
Me:  Must be serious, calling me that.  You must want something.
Janabel:  Not really want.  But I've made a decision.
Me: Oh?
Janabel:  I've decided my future.  I'd already decided it long before now but well you know.
Me:  Well, I don't know.  What have you decided?
Janabel:  You know the silver hairs?
Me: The what?!
Janabel:  The Silver Hairs?  You know the OLD people I visit with?
Me: Oh, yeah.  So?
Janabel:  I've been running numbers for them for years.  I've got a pretty sweet gig going and I want to continue it. With my connections I could be the Criminal Mastermind in no time.
Me: What? Wait? WHAT! You?  Do you know who your Great Grandma was?
Janabel: Yea.  No one ever lets me forget.
Me: And you want to be a criminal?  Have you, by chance, met your parents?
Janabel:  Unfortunately.
Me:  Your dad is Captain Hero and your mom is almost The Law.  Do you seriously think this is even an option?
Janabel:  It's the only option.  And honestly, it's already done.  I've got a sweet job as a street hawker downtown.
Me:  Your dad?  You would seriously put your dad in a position to have to explain to the entire police force that his daughter is a criminal?
Janabel:  Please.  I'm not going to get caught.  He never has to know.
Me:  Your dad.  Never has to know?  For the love of tomatoes, he's Captain Hero.  He'll know.
Janabel:  Fizz.  Chill.  He's old.  He's retired.  He has the two spares to keep him occupied.  He'll never know.
Me:  Ok. If you want to try to convince yourself of that.  Mom?  I mean seriously. Law.  Lawyer.  Going be The Law if she doesn't die trying.  What do you want her to tell her law abiding coworkers and friends when you get caught and need representation?
Janabel: Enough with the get caught!  I'm not getting caught.  And again.  She's old.  She has the two spares when she's not trying to get the next promotion.  Maybe you forgot where I said it's done.  I'm in the life of crime career.  It's where I want to be.  I have connections.  I promise you this is a no brainer.  It has to be unlocked anyway, right?
Me:  Well, maybe by a spouse.  A few generations down.  Not by the daughter of Captain Hero and The Law.
Janabel:  We're done here.  Thanks for your time.  And for keeping my secret.  Because I know you will  You have to to save your own face.  Bye Fizz!
“Nice place you have. I’d hate to see anything bad happen to it.”
The local organized crime family has taken advantage of the lawlessness in the region to set up a protection racket. Joey “The Comb” and his goons force people to pay hefty sums to ensure nothing “bad” happens to what few possessions they have left. While some try to fight the mob, most just give in and pay.
This girl is about to drive me batty.  She seemed so sweet and innocent.  Where did everything go sideways?  Where did this attitude come from because it surely isn't genetic.  I'm wondering if I should be worried about the lives of her parents.  There's so much venom there I almost fear she might do something drastic.  But she is right.  I will not be the one to tell them what she is about.  I just can't bear to break their hearts.  That's her decision, her place.  If she does so chose to tell them I will do my best to pick up the pieces.

While Janabel is out persuing her criminal activity Isiah is throwing himself into helping Delilah achieve toddler skills and that Samson is trying to stay grounded. He knows he's a spare. He knows that there is no real goal or pressure for him.  And he's soaking it all in.  There's a lazy way to do everything.  Literally everything.  Kaylynn is anything but lazy and has worked hard, stayed focused, and managed to secure the future of the law for generations to come.  Kaylynn is The Law.
Just a side note:  those snowmen look angry!

The Sim who becomes The Law restores the code of laws to the region, and the foundation is set for other parts of society to be restored. The Law restrictions are lifted. Now non-heir sims may move out and found their own family lot.
I leave you with no words.  No words of wisdom. No words of encouragement.  Janabel has left me speechless.  (Yes, you should mark that on the calendar!)  I'm so proud of Kaylynn and her perseverance forward to finish her career ladder, despite taking time to have 3 children.  I'm so proud of Isiah and the father he became.  I look forward to watching the spares grow up and find their own way now that they can.  And I'm terrified to see what step Janabel takes next.
