Jordan Talia Montgomery: Generation 3 Chapter 4

This installment in the lives of the Montgomery family is going to be a bit out of the ordinary. It is going to have a different tone than previous chapters.  I, the Maker, am admitting this now.   See, you may have noticed my absence. The silence has been deafening in the last little while.  Why? See, for the first time in my capacity as the Maker—my heart is broken.

No, no one has died—yet.  Jordan is an elder. It's coming and I know it.  My heart breaks because I've bonded to Ricky and Jordan in a way that I never quite expected. I care for them. I know admitting this means I'm a little crazy and might need some help but I can't help it. I care for them.

In saying that, I'll do my best to start sharing what's going on as well as explain the very obvious lack of documenting of images/life info for my now teenage heir, Taylor Alexa. 

First off, Oscar Quinn decided to set out on his own and move to San Myshuno.  He just wasn't going anywhere while living at home. He wasn't working, just dabbling with his paintings, no love interest and most of all, he hoped that moving out would give Jordan a little kick in the pants. See, Jordan was so focused on becoming a doctor that she and Taylor haven't been talking...at all. I mean, did you noticed that serious scowl on Taylor's face in the picture above? 

Alexa has been absolutely miserable.  As much as I love Jordan, after she raised her brother and then took a job in a field that she loved—life seriously became all about herself. Well, and Ricky, always Ricky. Jordan was so self absorbed that she would frequently forego spending time with her own children to study or woohoo with Ricky. 

After a long conversation with her mom about how badly it hurt her that she never spent time with her, Jordan and Alexa quickly set about to repairing their mother/daughter relationship.


Finally seeing her dream come true and being made Chief of Staff, Jordan was finally content to take a step back and spend the last of her days seeing a new home built for the future generations. She wanted a home worth double that the old homestead.

 I, the Maker, though I was attached to the old Montgomery homestead must be going soft. I think perhaps that the Almighty has been a bad influence because I let her do this even though it wiped out most of the money that she and Elena had put aside for the future.  I'm not convinced the new generations can make the payments but with the 50,000 left after selling off rare plants that grandpa Edwin had gathered, at least I have a couple weeks for Alexa to get her career really going. 

The need for Alexa to progress in her career happened entirely too soon for my liking. I knew it was coming and yet I was so shocked and sad that I instructed Ricky to plead for his lover when death laid claim to her life. 

Alas, the grim doesn't care that Ricky can barely stand the thought of living without Jordan. In fact,

Ricky has been so beside himself that he's lost his grip on reality.  So much so that he is spending his last days with his ghostly love—in the sauna. 

Alexa knew that things were dire and she wanted to find and marry the man of her dreams before her dad took his place alongside Jordan in the afterlife.

So, much like grandma Elena, she headed out to the Narwhal nightclub where she met a hottie wearing hotpants, Lamar Choate.

Even more like grandma, their evening at the nightclub ended in the closet. Goodness, let's hope there isn't a repeat "oops" baby in this new generation!

With the evening coming to a close, Alexa threw out the crazy idea of eloping. She promised many more exciting evenings in the closet if Lamar was willing to marry that very evening.  Lamar was crazy enough to say yes. So,  in front of the very disinterested and grief-stricken Ricky; Alexa and Lamar said their vows.

The joyous evening was overshadowed by grief. Instead of healing the hurt in her father's life, Ricky succumbed to a quick bout of illness that resulted in his unfortunate and heartbreaking death. He didn't even get a chance to become a grandparent. Alexa was absolutely heartbroken.

Grief cannot keep this girl down though. She is a Montgomery and she is tough.  She doesn't have but a few weeks at most to find herself at the top of her career because at that point the savings will be depleted and that would be a detrimental blow to her Maker.  No, she must go on!

I am sad.  I hate saying goodbye to my favorite generation of Montgomery sims to date and so it is on this note that I invite you to take a look back at the phenomenal love of Jordan and Ricky Montgomery.

Jordan Talia Montgomery: Generation 3 Chapter 3

Time. What is time? It seems just yesterday that Jordan was a wee babe in arms or that it was just hours ago that she was falling madly in love with Ricky.

Time in the Montgomery family however is a little confused. Remember in the last chapter when I mentioned Ricky's birthday? Yeah, he aged up to elder and due to other duties required of The Maker, I've left this family unattended while the other realm demanded attention.

Imagine my surprise when I logged in to see that Ricky was an adult again. I'm not sure how this happened. When I last played, he was an elder!  Jordan is still an elder but Ricky is an adult again and only halfway to the elderly status. 

This made Jordan slightly grumpy.  While her professional life has been great and things have never stalled in the bedroom—Jordan kinda let herself go, physically.

The thing is though, even though she's an elder and she's put on a little weight, Jordan's in pretty good physical health.  As a doctor she has obtained the wellness skill, is rarely sick and she doesn't seem to suffer from the same fatigue and emotional upsets that a lot of other sims do. So, I sent her off for a makeover. She's still not convinced that she is beautiful but Ricky sure still thinks so.  He is just absolutely smitten with her. I truly worry about how he's going to carry on should he lose her to old age.

Big changes have been brewing in the legacy house. Jordan's brother Ezra received a little visit awhile back from this goddess entity named Fizzy.  Fizzy is also known as The Almighty Ruler of Everything and is a dear friend of the Montgomery's creator, The Maker.

Imagine my surprise when he tried to have a little conversation with me? I nipped that little quirk right in the bud. I'm the maker. I want what I want. I get what I want and I'll do with my subjects what I want.  If they think I'm going to have conversations and a personal relationship with them they are sorely mistaken.

Ezra is a quick learner. He realized that the Maker's finger was likely hovering over the delete button and he took his conversation to Jordan instead.

Ezra: Hey, Jordan? Can we talk?
Jordan: Sure, honey. What's up?
Ezra: You're smart. Have you ever questioned how we came into existence?
Jordan: Oh, darlin' do we need to have a little talk? You see, when a man and a woman...
Ezra: Oh! Dear god, NO! Not THAT! I mean life in general...is there a higher power directing our lives? Making our decisions for us? Creating us?
Jordan: You mean like The Maker? I know all about her. Some people say that she's a crazy dictator that directs our lives but honestly, she's been pretty good to me. I mean, have you seen Ricky? He is the hottest sim I've ever laid eyes on and he's mine. Those abs...
Ezra: T.M.I, Jordan. Can we get back on topic?
Jordan: Ummm, sure. I guess. Where are you going with all of this?
Ezra: Well, I had this visit from this really nice lady named Fizzy.  She's friends with The Maker and she recently came to visit me.
Jordan: Here? At the house? We had a goddess in our house?
Ezra: Well, yeah. Anyway, I was shocked because The Maker is pretty mum and unapproachable. I mean, I know she's there but she's never spoken to me.  I'm barely aware of her except for the few times I was walking to the bathroom, completely forgot where I was and then wet myself.
Jordan: Uhh, gross. You might need to get that looked at. She's never done anything like that to me. Anyhoo, how do you know this Fizzy woman is like The Maker?
Ezra: I just do, okay? Trust me here.  Anyway,  she told me that you have your heart set on a promotion and that it just wasn't happening because you need to deliver a baby. I really panicked because I thought she intended for me to be abducted. I've heard aliens have ways of impregnating young men like myself.
Jordan: Yes, that is true. I met an alien once at the bar. I really thought I'd had too much to drink and maybe spent a little too much time in the closet.  But then I sobered up and I've totally accepted that they're out there. Some of them just like to keep it a secret. You know, some sims just aren't accepting of alien life.
Ezra: Yeah, well, I am NOT doing whatever it is men have to do to birth an alien baby. No way in this lifetime...I hope.  Fizzy however quickly assured me that she's not quite as unpredictable as The Maker is with her ideas. She had a more traditional suggestion.
Jordan: Oh, yeah? Like...wedding bells? Did you meet a girl!? Why didn't you tell me?
Ezra: Well, I was trying to but you got distracted by Ricky's abs, remember? She told me where to find this girl. Jordan, she's so cute and sweet. We're going to get married and have little Moss babies!
Jordan: You're growing your babies on trees?
Ezra: Dear lord, woman. How is it you've made it nearly to the top of your career? No, we're changing our name to Moss and we're going to have babies. You will deliver the babies and get your promotion.
Jordan: Ah, I get it! Am I too old to say "Cool beans?"

 

With Ezra's writing skill maxed and Jordan's biography written—Angelica was wooed and wed.

Ezra was so incredibly sweet and suggested a simple park wedding so that Jordan and Ricky could could renew their vows. Isn't he just the best little brother EVER?  Of course, Jordan and Ricky were more like parents to Ezra so he felt very blessed to spend his special day with them.

Jordan Talia Montgomery: Generation 3 Chapter 2

In the last chapter things got hot and heavy between Jordan and Mr. Washboard Abs.

If you haven't checked out that chapter, please do so. You do NOT want to miss seeing Ricky topless. I mean...hello, Mr. Washboard Abs!

All lusting over his abs aside, he's been a wonderful life partner for Jordan. He's very agreeable, he skills up nicely and he's progressed through his career decently.

He also has been very kind to Jordan's brother who was still a kid when his mother and father died. He helped him with his homework and he and Jordan were more like parents to Ezra than Elena and Edwin were able to be due to their advanced age and death.

After the last chapter and Jordan's promotion to GP, she gave birth to a sweet little girl named Taylor Alexa who arrived promptly on her brother's birthday.  Jordan was so relieved to have her heir. You can just see it in her exhausted face!

As I said, Oscar grew up and is now a rambunctious scamp. He's kinda cute. I might have to let him marry into a different matriarch family so he carries on his dad's handsome looks.

Just like his dad, he is so very easy going too. Which is good because I rolled the slob trait for him and the house is always trashed.  I don't think I could tolerate slob and mean.  One day he'll be a painter and he can immortalize his sister in a lovely painting. I'm kind of looking forward to that! We've not yet had an artist in the family. 

So, life has went just swimmingly for Jordan and Ricky.  They have a routine to their day. They both go to work. Ezra, now a young adult,  stays home and works on his writing skill so that he can write Jordan's autobiography. The two little ones go to school. Jordan and Ricky come home and take a little detour to the bedroom.. They just can't keep their hands off each other!  (Okay, it's the easiest way for me to keep up their fun and social skills) Still, they're just the sweetest little family ever. I think they might be my favorite generation so far.

So, Jordan's doing really great at her career. She's almost ready for another promotion. She needs just one more surgery under her belt and she'll be a full fledged Medical Specialist.  I have to admit though, this is the first time playing through the doctor career and I really committed a huge legacy challenge no-no. I realized that the game is seriously messed up when it comes to the doctor career. My sim would have to swab the same person five days in a row an it was just mind numbing. Also, the child sims would come in and I couldn't always diagnose them because they can't do the treadmill test. So, I downloaded this really great mod called "The Doctor Career Reimagined"  I didn't use any of the options that give an unfair advantage but it definitely makes playing the doctor career much more enjoyable. I mean, really...how many times must a sim be swabbed? Hello, it's called rapid test and then you culture it. You don't need five throat swabs. No, just no.

But, before Jordan could get the next big promotion...her birthday rolled around. Goodness guys, really...I feel emotional about this! I am not ready for Jordan to be an elder. I want her to stay young for a bit longer!  Alas, life goes on and Jordan now has wrinkles.

I still think that she can make it to the top of her career path before she has her eternal rest. She's in good physical health and she's doing a fantastic job every day at work. I'm very hopeful that she's going to see her dream of becoming a doctor fulfilled before the reaper visits.

I'm really not sure if Ricky will make the top of his career but hopefully he'll complete his aspiration if nothing else. I guess we will see. He has one day left before his birthday and they could totally surprise me and crank out all their promotions.

The house is well taken care of, they've secured a maid to care for everything. The kids are doing great. So, they may still do this!

 With Jordan's birthday behind them and Ricky's birthday coming up the next day...I completely missed that it was Oscar's birthday. He aged up and  sent him to the mirror to give him a complete inspection. He did get his daddy's abs. See picture for reference, you're welcome. 

Moving along now to the important things. Jordan got another promotion and is now working as a medical specialist.  Excuse me?! Did you just see what I said or are you busy staring at the abs? I thought so... attention...MEDICAL SPECIALIST. Next stop? Surgeon. 

There's one thing standing in the way of Jordan's promotion and that's the fact that The Maker doesn't play with auto aging on. In fact, the Montgomery family is one of 37 other families that are played in rotation.  So, why is this a problem? With so many playable sims in game, there's not a ton of NPCs and there's no story progression or pregnant sims to even come in for the "deliver a baby" requirement. 

The Maker & The Almighty Ruler of Everything

I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do. I cannot progress Jordan in her career without delivering a baby. 

I think it's time to take a break for the real world reality while I try to decide what to do about this problem.

Besides, I have this weird feeling someone is watching me control the Montgomery's and it has me weirded out!

Me: Hey Ezra. We need to chat?

Ezra: Who? Wha-?

Me: Chill. You are fine. I’m totally real. You know who The Maker is right?

Ezra: Kinda. She’s kind of a legend. Not someone you talk to. Are you The Maker?

Me: Close but not even in the baseline. I’m The Almighty Ruler of Everything. Most people call me Fizzy out of sheer laziness.  Doesn't matter who I am, matters who you are.  And You and I need to chat.

Ezra:  Me?  Chat?  OK.

Me:  Thanks for catching on.  Listen, I know you are home so I'll be there in a flash.  Coffee is always a great thing to offer as refreshment.  

Me:  Ok, so here's the deal.  The Maker and I are friends.  We serve the same function in Sims lives in different realms.  That is neither here nor there.  Just trying to answer questions before you stumble over them.  Here's the deal.  Your sister needs your help.

Ezra:  Realms?  Sister?  Help?

Me:  Gravy with the questions.  Lets focus on the last part.  Your sister needs your help.  

Ezra:  Jordan?

Me:  Yea, your sister, Jordan.  Let's play a game.  I talk you listen.  There will be a Q&A after.

Ezra:  Um, ok.

Me:  Jordan really wants to get a promotion at work.  It's really important to her.  In order to get this promotion she needs to deliver a baby.  There really aren't any babies to be delivered these days and when they do come in your sister isn't on call so she misses out on her promotion.  

Ezra:  I'm not going to have a baby!

Me:  Zip.  I'm not done.  No you are not going to be getting pregnant. However, my hope is that you will have a baby.  For the love of your sister, for the future of your community I need you to step up.  

Ezra:  Huh?

Me:  You are going to meet a delightful young lady named Angelica Cassidy.  Y'all are really going to hit it off.  You are going to ask her to marry you.  You are going to move out of your sister's house and in with Angelica.  Y'all will begin your own future, your own family.  Your own last name, Moss.  And y'all will have a family.  A baby.  So that your sister can deliver it.  Yes Baby Moss will be delivered by the doting auntie. 
Ezra:  So basically I'm supposed to figure out how to meet this person.  And convince this person to marry me.  And we are both going to change our last name to something that grows on trees and rocks.  And have a baby.  Just to make my sister happy?
Me:  Well if you go all bare bones basically yup.  However, it's not like that.  You will meet this girl, have faith.  Falling in love is the easy part, staying in love is what you need to worry about.  And babies make everybody happy.  Seriously, once the baby arrives you won't know what your life was ever like before.  Trust me.

*blinks*  I, wha?! Okay, well, apparently my BFF, the Almighty Ruler of Everything has taken care of my little problem.  Ezra has met and informed Angelica of this little arrangement and she's a little skeptical but prepared to do what is needed. Because, of course, the Maker always gets what The Maker wants.

Jordan Talia Montgomery: Generation 3 Chapter 1

In the last chapter we saw the life of Elena and Edwin pass us by rapidly. These two  seized life, flew through promotions and have been busy raising their daughter Jordan and their son, Ezra.

Unfortunately I got so caught up in playing Jordan as a child that I forgot to take many pictures to update on the humdrum daily of life for Elena and Edwin

Life is continuing for the Montgomery Family. Jordan Talia is nearly an adult and still has  no romantic love interests. She's been promoted to a assistant nurse and is putting in a lot of extra hours.  She has had a very loving relationship with both of her parents so it hurts a little that she was passed out from exhaustion when dear old dad's time came to an end.  Even worst, little Ezra is not yet a teen and already losing his dad—his mom is getting on up in years as well.

Bills are rather pricey these days (nearly §8000 every Monday) but luckily the family's pretty set thanks to Grandma Ember and mama Elena's hard work and dedication.  There's enough funds in the bank that the family won't struggle as they transition into this new stage of life.

Elena was just crushed when she lost Edwin. I feel like I just didn't have enough time with them. Things were SO easy for this generation that it just flew by. As I said, I didn't even get many pictures of Jordan's childhood because things just moved so fast.

Nevertheless, Elena's grief just made me sad...I know, it's just a  game but I felt her despair.

Time for Elena was quickly wrapping up too and Jordan was almost an adult and still didn't have a single love interest.  Suddenly, losing her dad made her really long to find a husband before she lost her mom to old age as well. 

So, out Jordan hit the town and it wasn't long that she met this hottie named Ricky Vinson.  They really connected and it wasn't long before they were really good friends. When it came to romance though, he was so extremely stubborn. I would have them flirt and he would get upset. Jordan was getting older though and determined to snag her soulmate before dear old mom met her maker (psst! I don't actually meet my sims when they die but if it ever happens? I'll let you know) 

 Try as I might to get them to fall in love it just didn't happen...at least not in time for dear Elena to see her daughter happily married.   At least Jordan was able to properly mourn the loss of her mother though. She was dead tired from a busy day at work but at least she didn't faceplant during such an important life event.

 

Speaking of that busy day at work?   Well, it might have involved an unnecessary surgery on this freaky looking dude that looks like a clown and yes...it cost her a promotion.  What a terrible day altogether. 

Moving along now...

Elena lies cold in her grave and Jordan is determined that Ricky Vinson will be hers—regardless.   A friend of mine, the Almighty Ruler of Everything (AKA Fizzy) suggested that maybe Jordan wasn't the right gender for Ricky but by golly...Jordan needs a man and a man she will have!  She wants Ricky and it is Ricky she will have! 

So, she totally abused their friendship and asked him to move in. He readily agreed to this arrangement and the minute he moved in, I pulled my god-like powers of persuasion on him.

In other words? I sent them both to watch the romance channel and then I forced him to flirt with her.  A couple flirty interactions later and Jordan and Ricky were having their first kiss. The Maker always gets what she wants. ALWAYS.

Things moved to the bedroom where they had their first woohoo. Jordan ran to the bathroom and took a pregnancy test because her biological clock is tickin' and bam...bun in the oven!  She ran back to the bedroom and announced that they were going to be parents. Knocked up—he is hers now. He doesn't have a job and can't afford child support so he is stuck! This hottie isn't getting away. Nope! She proposed to a half naked Ricky right then and there! 

 

Half naked Ricky was so excited that he accepted the proposal and they eloped. Whatever was he waiting for? Why wait now? Who needs clothes to get married? Besides, have you seen those abs? I feel like taking a page out of Fizzy's book and giving him some ridiculous nickname like "Man Candy" or "Mr. Washboard Abs"

Jordan is entirely too driven to consider a honeymoon.  The day after these two eloped she was back to work and being promoted to R.N. 

Ezra is busy working on becoming an author so that he can write Elena's autobiography before he moves out to start his own family.  Nothing super exciting to report about him. As the spare heir he's just along for the ride. 

Sometimes I think of Ezra which makes me think of Prince Harry and for a moment I feel bad for Harry (and Ezra) because you know? It must really stink to be the spare. Especially when the spare has an heir and you're even further down the totem pole. I'm tellin' ya...that must really whomp! Who makes these rules anyway? 

Baby #1 was born, a son that was named Oscar Quinn. Unfortunately, Jordan is halfway to elder and she really needed a daughter to carry on the Montgomery name. Which means that Ricky is having to take care of little  Oscar because Jordan had to get pregnant again right away in hopes for an heir. 

The day after Oscar was born, Jordan was promoted to General Practitioner.  Which is great because the bills are burning through the savings that Elena and Ember left for the family.  Large houses aren't cheap and I definitely have more bills than Ricky and Jordan make in a week.

All and all, this generation is shaping up nicely.  I'm very grateful for the savings I've secured for this generation. Nothing quite compares to the thousands in royalties that the family had gotten used to living on, that's for sure! The future however is still looking pretty bright!  

On that note, I will leave you with one last look at how things were and a chance to say goodbye to Generation 2's Elena and Edwin.

Elena Revan Montgomery: Generation 2 Chapter 2

Last Chapter wrapped up generation one and included a surprise pregnancy for generation two's heir, Elena Revan.

I really wasn't ready for her to have a baby (thanks risky woohoo!) but we've had a surprisingly easy time. Things are going along just peachy! I'm just waiting for some disaster to strike.

 

Just like her mother before her, Elena picked out a winner. He's so attentive to her and they're absolutely adorable together.  After the shock wore off, the two of them have been over the moon and eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little love bug.

But, as I foretold...disaster was just around the corner.  Edwin had a mishap at work and set himself on fire.    Thank the stars he was able to extinguish himself because he was so close to death and unfortunately when you're at work there's no one to put you out! I wasn't entirely sure what would happen if he had died there and I'm really glad I didn't find out!

Disaster was still looming.  After the rough day at work, Elena lost her father to old age. She was absolutely devastated.  Okay, I admit it...I was really sad too. Josh outlived Ember and I really had hoped he'd get to see the birth of his grandchild but the reaper said, "No!"

 

 The shock of losing her father put Elena in labor and while I was tending to her husband's energy failure she gave birth to a daughter in the middle of her dining. Somehow I missed her entire labor!  An heir, their cute little princess was born, Jordan Talia Montgomery!

 

Loss seems to have kicked Elena into overdrive too because not only did she take very good care of her daughter. She also achieved level 10 in writing and a couple promotions before even reaching the Adult lifestage! Whew! That took some very hard work and dedication! Way to go, Elena!

It wasn't long and baby Jordan had grown into a lovely young lady herself and her mom's hard work ethics seems to have rubbed off on her because she already had maxed mental and nearly maxed creativity skill points as she made the transition into a teen.

Days before Jordan was turning to an adult...Elena spun the want to try for a baby with Edwin and as she also needed to go on a couple dates for her aspiration rewards, I decided to go ahead and let them try for a baby in the closet. This time I was determined to let things happen intentionally rather than accidentally. I mean, what's cooler than telling your second child that their sibling was conceived in a closet and turned out good so they went for a repeat. 

About twenty minutes after Jordan's birthday celebration into adulthood...Ezra Cain was born!

 

Just as Elena herself was born to an aging mother...little Ezra was born just in time to see Elena turn an elder. Her writing career is not near as advanced as her mother's but she's putting out a lot more books and earning more royalties so I've not been too stressed about it.

Overall, this generation has been fairly easy and I look forward to seeing what Jordan does with her life. She's just started working in the doctor career and had a great day on her new job. Let's hope she advances fast so dear ole dad can retire and spend his spare time fulfilling his aspirations!
