Moss Generation Challenge: G1 Chapter 3

Here we are again in the Moss home. We're still plucking away at their goals! Here is where we left off at the conclusion of the last chapter

So, the day came for Ashley's birthday and I made a HUGE mistake. I accidentally  aged Angelica up to Elder by blowing out the candles instead of selecting Ashley.  Oops! Anyway, I don't care that Ashley is kill-it-with-fire ugly, she's finding a man and getting married right away because her dear ole dad needs to marry off two children!   Don't believe me that she is kill-it-with-fire ugly? Seriously, believe it. I have the proof. That's a face that only a mother could love. Well, unless the Maker steps in and makes it happen because what is it that I always say? What the Maker wants, the Maker gets and the Maker wants Ashley to find love.

So, I looked over all of my notes and potential lovers and thought that maybe Ashley would make a fine wife of Derek Dreamer, another one of my sim families. I was right. They hit it off and after the first date they eloped in the park!

Ugly sims need love too, right? Okay, no...they don't but the Maker needs to complete this challenge.

After I married off Ashley, I quickly set about getting a young man raised up for Laurel. I chose an artistic young man named Stephen Broke as a suitor for Laurel and they exchanged promise rings just before their birthdays.
As soon as Stephen and Laurel became young adults, they quickly eloped. Alder is only days away from Young Adult and Ezra needed knock out at least one more objective before he took over as the heir of the family. While they were throwing a wedding anyway, Ezra and Angelica decided to renew their vows. Unfortunately no one ever taught them wedding attire etiquette.

I thought things were going just swimmingly but Stephen confronted Ezra after the wedding. He felt that Ezra and Angelica not only tried to steal the limelight by deciding to renew their vows but they also made a mockery out of the ceremony by showing up in their underwear and pajamas.

Needless to say, words were said, fists went flying and enemies were made.   This isn't how I'd planned to have this wedding wrap up but at least it completes all five generational challenges.

Alder finished up getting to A+ Student before turning into a young adult. Unfortunately, just hours before his birthday, his sweet mama met Grim. I'm surprised that she went before Ezra, they both were blinking for several days before she finally gave up and passed on.  More unfortunate, Ezra was at work and didn't get to say his goodbyes. He did get to watch Alder turn into a Young Adult though!

I also want to point out that Alexa and Ezra have made it to best friend status. She dropped by from the Legacy house to offer her condolences to Ezra, which I thought was super sweet.

I think she knows that time with her uncle was drawing to a close and she wanted to get in one more visit before she lost him too.

With Ezra's time dwindling down, Alder met and proposed to a young lady named Aylin from my Lothario family. This particular challenge says to have no playable sims in your neighborhood but for the life of me I can't really figure out why it matters. Especially sine you're completing the challenges with the heir. So, it's something I've chosen to ignore and Aylin needed a nice young man!

And days later, Ezra died...of overexhaustion. I've no clue how that happened! I totally forgot to take his picture though because I was looking for Alexa as she was visiting from the Legacy house!   She was upstairs mourning Angelica, who she only ever met on one occasion. These sims are messed up!

So it is that Ezra has passed the challenge to Alder! Stay tuned for babies, parties and lots and lots of studying for those promotions!  One challenge down! 9 to go!

Tifani Triumph: Generation 5 Houses

With all the new adults soon to make their way into the world I've discovered that in all there are to be now 10 other houses, literally doubled from before.  For now I'll be breaking those houses into generations.  This time we will drop in on Martha, Peter, Mary, Abigail and Samuel.  Next time we'll check in with the newly struggling adults.

Martha's House

Martha's family is ready for some BIG changes.  Faith and Hope have each chosen to strike out on their own.  The first time away from each other and away from their family.  Love, still just a teen, will remain at home to become heir to the new house.  Yup, while Faith and Hope are packing their bags so is the rest of the family.  Moving to their first 'real' house.
Moving day breakfast.  Faith, Hope, and Love having one last breakfast in the apartment.  Shortly after the twins called for separate taxis to take them to their new lives.  Not that home will ever be far from their minds.  We'll see them again next time, I promise.

Moving for Martha, Talin and Love was a bit more complicated.  Finding the right now.  Enough house to grow with future families but not so big it was impossible to heat in this nuclear winter.  (Think Abigail's first house which was technically pre-Seasons expansion and therefore not 'insulated' and I couldn't fix it to make it safe.) I tried a couple of different houses before I found 'the one'.  It was perfect in size, price wasn't too much of a hindrance for these guys, and with some simple remodels by me it was home.
Originally considered a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath the family lived through a remodel.  The two upstairs bedrooms were converted to a master and two smaller bedrooms.  OK, seriously like a wall was added to cut one large bedroom in two but whatever, it worked.  Downstairs the bedroom was again cut in two to make a study and a nursery.  I hope that Martha's family will be happy here for generations to come.

On the life front however, I've got other decisions to make.  Martha has achieved her lifetime want by maxing her career.  Her new lifetime want is all about having top businesses.  Is it fair though, to let her open a business or five when realistically we are just dancing around her future with Grimmy.  Well, and dancing around with Talin.  What is it with elder sims not being able to keep their hands off each other?!?
Taken in the newly remodeled study.
I'm not yet keen on letting her explore business ownership and she's maxed all her skills.  Like all of them!  She needed something to do.  And then she met Webster.  Who with a little love and time joined the family.
Meanwhile Talin has stalled out on his quest for career due to lack of friends.  Friends aren't really all that important to him as his actual want is to max all his skills.  So he's working on that and going to work and leaving the friend stuff up to the ladies.  Love, she's just focused on growing up.  I'm focused on finding her a potential future husband, she's just focused on living.  And I'm good with that.

Peter's House

Peter's family is more than ready to leave the apartments and into their own house.  While they don't deal with the neighbor noise quite like his sister's, they lack space.  And perhaps space will help keep Lily happier.
Moving Day!  Finding Peter's family a new home as a tad easier.  Again, a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath that with a little Almighty remodeling will hopefully shelter Peter's family for generations to come.
Settled in Peter is immediately off to work while Ivy and Lily greeted the Welcome Committee.  Lily met a few new people and with mom and dad aging she'll need to eventually have her own friends.  Though I'd prefer a guy her own age, if you know what I mean.

Part way through the week Ivy celebrated her birthday after work.  These evening birthday's are so difficult to photograph since well, it's dark outside.
And just as all the elders before them Peter and Ivy just can't not be together.  I guess I should be glad they can't autonomously woohoo, especially when they aren't elders!

Mary's House
Mary's family is the last to leave the apartments.  Oddly enough, and I should have taken a picture as 'proof' but some weird glitch of some sort kept the already moved families hanging out in the side yard.  Their apartments were already rented out but their they hung out freezing and wetting themselves and stinking to high heavens.   Anyway, moving day has arrived!
Yup, the now traditional last meal before the big move.  They haven't quite finished packing yet but that's ok, I still have to find them a house that will meet their needs yet that they can still afford.  Price is much more an issue with this family than with the other siblings.  But I did find one, hopefully it will meet their needs for generations to come.
Remodeling wasn't really required as there wasn't much to work with.  However, serious redecorating is still in store.  Mary and Shea may not have appreciated my choosing to work on the master while they were snuggling but hey, what are they gonna do ya know?

On with living!  Shea made a few promotions and while has career isn't his lifetime goal he does have a pretty hefty want to max it out.  Mary long ago maxed her career but again not her lifetime want so she's just plucking along.  Zachariah, now a teen finally find a job in culinary which is his lifetime aspiration.  This family has a lot of friends, thanks Shea, but none of them are Zachariah's.  This needs to start changing quickly as mom and dad are aging but he also needs to find 'the one'.

Before the week was out Mary celebrated her birthday.  Her and Shea had brought friends home from work so there was visiting and eating and hanging out to be done.  And as time slipped by she didn't auto age.  Finally just after midnight she decided it was time.
Oh Mary, that outfit...beyond hideous!  It does make you teeth and hair appear to glow.

Abigail's House
Oh the land of chaos.  But wait, what is that I remember?  Oh yeah!  Three kids are moving out!  That's like half of them!  Just gotta get through moving day and then perhaps slightly less chaos?  Forget about a cute 'moving day' meal photo with the family.  Getting this family into the same room together at any one time is like herding cats.  Even if I served a meal and called them all one meal will only feed part of them!  Let's get those adult children outta here~
John is the only one with something of a future plan.  He's spent time with Meadow and plans to pursue a future with her once he's established in his own place.  Isabella and Issac are planning nothing but solitude for a while.  And I can't say I blame them one little bit!

Immediately the stress in the house lessened for everyone.  It was still there, clouding around the edges but oh so much better than before.  Much easier to find an unoccupied bathroom, serve a family meal, just walk the staircase!

Few days down the road and Eden's birthday came as she returned from work with Oliver in tow.  They are destined to be together and have declared their intent to marry.  So it was only fitting that they grew up to adult together as well.
Eden was dying to propose right then and there but I suggested she wait.  Just because you know you'll be together and have planned your future doesn't mean that an engagement is something you pop spur of the moment...you plan it.  Next week dear one, next week when you strike out together in your own spaces.

Whatever got between Eden and Bethany last week is still brewing.  I wish I knew what had caused the fight but this week the slap around ended with Bethany's relationship with Eden in the negatives, but not the reds.  Eden just has no feelings for Bethany, everything is 0.
It was a busy week for the household.  Moving out, growing up and then losing Clarence.  Clarence returned from work Friday afternoon to be met by Grimmy.  I'm sure he would have preferred anyone but that but alas, his time had come.  Clarence was part of a power couple, power when it comes to population explosion anyway.  He was father to the first set of post-apocalyptic twins, he fathered 6 children total but longed for more.  Clarence did his best as a husband and father.  Careers and friendships were never his strong suit but family was everything.Clarence, you were a pleasure to work with, despite the baby thing.

Samuel's House
Ye gads, back to a house with toddler twins.  The massive changes at Abigail's means I'm not quite as overwhelmed as I could be.  Still dreading it but alas, let's go.  New house is coming my dears!
First and foremost I have to share the horrible truth I learned this week.  Gwen's chronic unhappiness while pregnant and sim-partum?  It's a character flaw and nothing to do whatsoever with being pregnant and having twin babies.  The woman cannot be happy!   Even in the new house with all the space?  She loves it but still ain't happy.

Madison and Mason are the primary reason why this family needs a new house stat.  There's just not enough space in the current abode for more than one little one at a time.  They are cramped!  However, during toddler-hood the move to the new house made a world of difference.  They didn't manage to quite get all their skills but they put in a valiant effort before becoming children.
And yes Madison did choose to sit IN the wall while working on talking with Gwen.  There is no reasoning with toddlers!

Samuel tried so hard to make Gwen happier.  I gotta tell ya though the woman is even immune to woohoo happy.  Though the fireplace in the new house added a touch of ambience that was sweet.
By weeks end I was never happier to be leaving.  The twins are doing well.  Samuel and Gwen have gotten some minor promotions at work.  And I know that soon they will have to have another baby, an heir to this new home.

Taylor Alexa Montgomery: Generation 4 Chapter 3

If you're just now joining the Montgomery family on their journey or you're new to the blog, feel free to hop over to the Montgomery Legacy Family's page where you're find all their links (in order)  so that you can easily follow along!

Now, right into updates! We'll start with Lewis! Lewis was able to complete the Whiz Kid and Rambunctious scamp aspirations plus was an A+ student when he aged up to teen!  Unfortunately I spun Public Enemy as his adult aspiration.  Thank goodness he isn't my heir. Hopefully Sophia doesn't spin the same. Public Enemy is an aspiration I kind of despise. Sims should leave the evil stuff to their maker.  I have to say though, he reminds me of Thresh from The Hunger Games so...who knows, maybe I'll make him the reluctant Public Enemy and kind of enjoy it.

Little Sophia turned into a child the day after Lewis turned into a teen and I'm so surprised at her looks! She doesn't look very much like a Montgomery. She looks like Tiffani Amber Thiessen. For all you young whippersnappers, she was a popular actress back in the 90's. Yes, the Maker is showing her age. 80's baby and all...

Sophia has already completed the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration and is working to quickly fulfill the Whiz Kid aspiration like her big brother.

With both children's future looking bright, Lamar celebrated his elder birthday! Doesn't he kinda look like Obama?  By the way, don't take this as me being political, it's an observation, nothing more.
He is still level 7 in his career but he is very close to his promotion. I'd say the next work day will bring him to level 8. Additionally, he's now on 3/4 on his Successful Lineage Aspiration.

The day after Lamar aged up, it was time to celebrate Sophia's birthday and she grew into a lovely young lady with the Soulmate aspiration.
She's already scoping out the maid...like mother like daughter? I don't know what he's doing in his spare time but I can tell ya that he didn't get that body cleaning houses.  I'm torn on whether I let her pursue him when she ages to young adult because he is so much older than her. I worry that she'll be disappointed not to have as much time with her spouse as he'll certainly die before her.  I guess we'll see. Maybe I'll consult with my friend, The Almighty to see if she thinks it'll be a good idea to let Sophia pick her own partner. This letting sims plan their own life is such uncharted territory for me.

It was a week of birthdays. I sent Alexa into the kitchen to bake her own birthday cake (which also maxed out her cooking skills) and then sent her to the mirror to get a little look at her as an elder. Not too bad, she looks a little mean but maybe she just channeling her inner Maker.

At least she doesn't walk around in sadness anymore though. We had made progress.

Then...I totally missed Lewis' birthday. I guess it just didn't seem possible that it was time for him to age up yet. So, I forgot to have a cake made for him and now he's walking around in a funk because we forgot his birthday. Sheesh, what entitled brats I've raised.

Workin' on those skills!
Now that he's a young adult, I can put him to work (starting at level 3 due to good grades!) and hopefully fulfill his dad's aspiration of seeing a child reach the top of his career.

Lamar better not die before Lewis maxes his career or I'll bring him back to life and kill him just as I killed the maid.  Don't believe me? Just watch me. I've said it before and I'll say it again. What the Maker wants, the Maker gets.

Not too old for the closet!
Time is winding down for Lamar and Alexa. Both are elderly but I'm not ready to say goodbye to them just yet. With the long-lived trait, I'm really hoping that at least Alexa will get to meet her grandbaby and future heir.  Lamar is quite a bit older than Alexa and I'm not sure he'll live long enough to see grandbabies but I have a good feeling about Alexa.  Check back in with us next time to see if my dreams become their reality or if they disappoint me by dying of old age! Bring on Chapter 4 and the gradual transitioning of generations!.

Taylor Alexa Montgomery: Generation 4 Chapter 2

Things have picked up for Alexa since the last chapter.  I don't know if it was the talk with Ricky or that her little boy (now a child) is very social and always hugging her but...I've actually seen her smile!

Alexa is actually an excellent mom. She's very attentive and spends a lot of time reading to Lewis. Alexa has been very determined not to be like her mom. Even though she's very ambitious, she never wants to neglect her children the way that her mom had neglected her.  Really, I think that having a child and developing that parent/child relationship has healed a hole in her heart.

As always, their love life certainly isn't struggling. The important thing is—they've developed a loving friendship as well. Best friends.  It's absolutely relieving to see. Although, since I strengthened their relationship, Alexa's taken to wanting to woohoo in strange places like the closet or sauna.

Both Alexa and Lamar celebrated their birthdays and are now adult.  Alexa is level 8 in her athletic career and Lamar is level 6.  Isn't he just handsome? I can see why Alexa was so smitten with him. I'm glad she's seeing him for his true worth and not just his handsome face these days because he's been an absolute joy to get to know.

Not only is he quite a looker but he's also completed his music aspiration and is now working on bodybuilder! He's my first spouse in the legacy house to complete his lifetime aspiration! Way to go, Lamar!

Ambition is apparently a family trait!   Lewis is an A student,  has completed the Whiz Kid aspiration and has quickly set in on the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration.  Will he complete it? I don't know but if he's anything like his parents he may just manage it!

With Lamar and Alexa getting along and an improvement in her overall mood and Lewis turning into some kind of prodigy—we have decided (mutually) that it is time to try for an heir.

Things happened fast and Lewis is absolutely thrilled at the prospect of being a big brother!  Isn't he just the sweetest? It's no wonder that Alexa is doing so wonderfully these days.  Her husband and son are just the sweetest thing since Ricky.

Time seemed to fly and it wasn't long before Alexa gave birth to a sweet baby girl that she named Sophia Reece.  Aren't they just adorable?

Alexa has turned out to be the best and sweetest mother. Don't tell anyone but I think she is my favorite. I know, I always say that but it's really true this time. It's the first time in my entire simming career that I've ever felt like I got inside the head of my sim.  It's the first time that I ever let my sim dictate what she wanted to do with her life.  Good gravy, I think the Almighty Ruler of Everything is getting to me.  I'm going soft. I  need to find a sim to kill—fast. I've a reputation to save!.

Remember back when Alexa was depressed and wanted to flirt with the maid? You don't? Well, I do. The Maker remembers all and since I had a reputation to protect, he was going to be my victim.  I locked this poor guy (who I didn't even note his name) in the bathroom and locked the door for everyone.  The family has no idea what took place in their bathroom nor did it ever occur to them to contact someone over the sticking door.  All they know is that one fateful evening the door jammed and three days later the door miraculously opened and the Grim floated out.   The Maker's reputation is intact and the Montgomery family is none the wiser.

So, here's a quick recap of the current generation and their accomplishments. Now, this is not typical of something I normally do but they've been such overachievers I feel the need to share

Alexa has completed the bodybuilder aspiration and has all of the following traits and unlocked traits
and is level 9 in the athletic career.

She has currently 2/4 in the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration.

With 11 days until elder and the long-lived trait, I've no doubt that Alexa will have many more things accomplished before handing the reigns over to her daughter for the next generation.

Lamar has also done quite well for himself. He has completed the Musical Genius Aspiration as well as Bodybuilder and is currently 3/4 in the Successful lineage aspiration.

He is level 7 in his Musical Career and has five days before he turns to Elder.

Like Alexa, he has the Long Lived trait and I've a feeling he'll have a couple more aspirations completed before he steps down as the head of the Montgomery Legacy.

I'm very excited to see where these two go from here!

Look! They even unlocked this achievement for me! No, not for them...for me!

The Montgomery children are likewise doing exceptionally well in life so I feel like this is a good time to wrap things up. I invite you to check in again soon for updates on Lewis and more importantly on Sophia who is our heiress!

Until then, happy simming! Also, feel free to start leaving me suggestions on the next house upgrade! I'm looking for a lovely lot in the 230,000 range. I need a tudor style and at least three bedrooms.  Leave me links in the comments below of your favorite creators!
