Tifani Triumph: The Medical Years Part 3

We have a LOT to catch up on from where we last left off.  Apparently my desire to play has greatly outweighed my motivation to blog it all.  Last we left Doo Rag was struggling to keep his head above water in the career game and my Tifani had matured to elder.  Truth be told as much as she has tried me throughout her life I'm not looking forward to her inevitable end.
Before we delve too deeply into their lives and adventures here are the remodel pictures I promised you.  Remember we are limited to an 8 X 8 structure that cannot be built on the ground.  I've manged to add a second story to the home and the happy couple were excited to scavenge and dig out timber and stone in order to give their home an unique look.

Remember that Tifani forgot that trying to use vacation days would lead to her being fired from her position, which has ended in a blessing in disguise.  She has used that extra time to attempt to make little Adam happy and fulfill her desire to have a guard pet.  Meeting pets and starting a relationship is the hard part.  Getting the same animal to come back so the relationship meter will allow for adoption is the hard part.  However, persistence and patience prevailed and Tifani was able to adopt Fetch (yes, yes we did change her name) and she was wisked off to the Military Compound to get a career in Security.

Zombies, mobsters, anarchists, burglars . . . there is a lot out there that can get you. Even if these threats don’t directly harm Sims, the fear of them does. A thick blanket of paranoia has spread over the region. Sleep does not come easy to a fearful mind, and the idea of these bad guys out to get them is enough to keep most Sims awake at night.

I'll include a picture of Fetch in a little bit as the only decent one I managed to take jumps us ahead in the life of Adam.  On top of working hard to adopt Fetch into the family, Tifani had the equally daunting task of trying to keep poor Adam happy.  Without access to clean running water keeping a toddler and later child out of hygiene needs failure is impossible.  And when they aren't clean they aren't happy.  And when they aren't happy they don't learn any life lessons, or skills.  However, Adam managed to grow up...sorta ok.

He continued to struggle with contentment throughout his childhood, seems you just can't wash your hands enough to ever feel clean.  But with a lot of patience and a little love Adam made it to the dreaded teenage years...hello sponge baths!

Adam and Fetch.

Adam, growing up, saw his father's struggles.  He didn't always understand them but he saw.  He also knows the importance of what his father is attempting to do.  So, as soon as he was able Adam applied for a job in the medical career and was accepted.  If nothing else he will show his dad that despite the struggles, Adam loves him and wants to follow in his footsteps.

Adam: Um, Fizzy?
Me:  Yes dear?
Adam:  Do you think it's bad, me Mchoosing to follow the medical path?
Me:  Do you?
Adam:  I just worry I'll hurt my dad's feelings you know. Like I don't believe in him?
Me:  Is that why you chose that path?
Adam:  Partly.
Me:  Let me ask that a different way.  Do you believe you dad can't do it?
Adam:  No, I just don't feel like he ever gets a fair shake with the chance cards.
Me:  So, do you believe in your dad?
Adam:  Yes.
Me: There's your answer.
Adam:  Huh?

(Definitely Doo Rag's kid.)

Doo Rag is slowly making progress.  He made it all the way to nurse when two chance cards in a row demoted him.  At one point he and Adam were working the same job title.  I'm sure it hurt the pride...a lot, but you can't ignore chance cards.  Pick better next time.

The day I dreaded has finally arrived.  Tifani's clock has run out.  She'll never get to encourage Joshua on his quest for Chief of Staff.  Never get to meet her grandchildren.  Never get to watch the remaining years Adam has.  She'll never get to take another hot shower.  Or cook in a real oven.  Of grow her own tomatoes.  So many nevers.  But she's had a good(ish) life.  She's met a lot of people, experience things you and I can only imagine.  She has laid a solid footing for her family, for the community, for generations to come.  In that Tifani is a legend.  And the start of something greater than herself.  She will also have the respect of her community, and the love of her family.  Here's a look back at Tifani Triump.  She truly lived.
Until next time...
