Tifani Triumph: Life of Crime Years Part 2 /Business Years Part 1

Last we met Janabel had just aged to adult and her entire world fell apart.  Aspiration failure at it's finest.  I know it's not nice to poke but here's another picture of her with the Shrink just to get you in the right mood.
She recovered with time.  And started trying to get Randy (Flattop..finally remembered to write down his name) over when she wasn't off to work or falling down tired so she could get him moved in and engaged.  Randy moved in with $19,000 in funds!  He is also a money sim like Janabel and immediately accepted the proposal for engagement.
A quick fact check and I was happily relieved that Flattop had left behind is criminal ways of teenage-hood and chosen to pursue a path in the Business career.  That is a career choice that remains available for tier 2 but I will let him decide.  I will never have a Sim say that I didn't give them a choice.
Me:  Hey, Flattop.  Let's chat.
Randy:  So this must be the legendary Almighty Ruler of Everything.  I respect you for your role but please, I also have a name.
Me:  Whoa, manners, I like that.  Sorry about that.  I'm legendarily notorious for being bad with names.  I'll try to remember for the future Randy.  And you can call me Fizzy.  Most everyone here does.
Randy: I am to understand that you will talk to me about my career choices and impress upon me the important role I am chosing to take on for the community by marrying into this family correct?
Me:  You are partly correct.  My habits seem to be getting around.  I have to say I'm very proud to see that you have chosen to leave behind the criminal ways and have set yourself up quite successfully in business.  Are you happy with your career?  It is an available career choice for you but I want to make sure you are aware of the options you do have.
Randy: I am very happy with my current career path and am pleased to know that I will be able to continue to develop my career in this area.
Me:  Good to hear.  Do you mind if I asked what led you to the criminal career path as a teen?
Randy:  You may ask.  There is only one reason, Janabel.  I knew she was the one for me and choosing to align myself into something that would bring out paths together made the most sense to develop a friendship with her.  Following her career seemed the easiest way to ensure that happened.
Me:  Stalker much?
Randy: What you calling stalking I prefer to refer to as creating opportunities.  There was no guarantee that we would become friends, much less more.  However, the opportunity presented itself and I chose to pursue it to see where it led.  I am happy that I took that opportunity and that our relationship blossomed to where we are today.
Me: Alrighty.  Your formality is a little intense.  Not a judgement, just trying to gather my thoughts and figure out how to not offend you.  Um, so.  You are a smart man, you have spent considerable time with Janabel.  You have agreed to marry her.  You are aware that you are not signing up for all red hearts and perfect dates?
Randy: No offense taken.  I too, come from a family that has worked hard to restore order to our community.  I understand what is at stake for all of us.  I also understand that Janabel is different.  Special if you will.  Her ideas about society are varied, sometimes brillant and sometimes frightening.  But I also firmly believe that she does love me as I love her.  I am commited for both of us to overcome the obstacles that may impede our success.
Me:  Good talk. Chat again sometime.  Please, never hesitate to reach out to me as you navigate life with Janabel.  I will always be here to offer encouragement and whatever assistance I can.
“Your money is no good here.”
The chaos in the region set off by the power plant explosions has broken down the basic economic fabric of society. The value of a Simolean varies wildly from place to place. All major markets have been destroyed or looted dry. With the economy of the region in shambles, people are unwilling to go shopping. The only thing that sells well are stories from survivors, as media outside the region is hungry to know what happened and what it is like to live in such a land.
Can we say denial?  Flattop is in for a hard trip through life, of that I am certain.  I am happy that he is set in this career as he is already a Vice President and with his determination he should do well to quickly move up the ranks.  Meanwhile Delilah grew into her teen years, and it wasn't quite the positive transition that I had hoped but no aspiration failure for this young lady.  For obvious reasons her aspiration was set to Romance, no generator required.
What is it with these genetics and life events happening in the bathroom!?!  I'm throwing in the bottom picture just because I really like it....you have to indulge the Ruler you know.
It wasn't long before Mom and Dad discovered what Janabel was all about.  She was hard to miss coming and going in her criminal uniform.  The insuing 'discussion' was rather heated and left Isiah and Kaylynn's heads reeling and disappointed.  Doubting themselves as parents, doubting themselves as community pillars, doubting themselves as law enforcement and lawyer.  Meanwhile Janabel felt pretty smug and arrogant about it all.  She knows that disappointment will never overshadow love.  Love is weakness.  She will never be weak.
To smooth things over Janabel proposed marriage to Randy and they wed in the living room.
One must wonder if the way the rings X in the photo if it is a portent of things to come?
Do you notice Isiah and Kaylynn in the background reliving their own wedding day?  They are still very much in love and can't keep their hands, or eyes, off each other.  Poor Randy, so much in love.  Truly love.  He has no idea that Janabel doesn't know love.

As they settle into marriage and score a few promotions each Sampson has chosen to join the military and soon ages to an adult.
While he has a desire to move out he has not yet taken the leap to do so.  Whether it's fear of the unknown, fear for his parents, or just laziness coming back into play I don't know but I'll have to give him a little nudge so he remembers our conversation.  In case you didn't notice the other glaringly obvious new development in the photo I guess I'll share that with you now as well.
Do you see the look of horror on her face?
Janabel:  FIZZY!
Me:  Yes dear?
Janabel:  What is this!?!
Me:  Well, if by this you mean your tummy I would guess that you are expecting.  Congratulations!
Janabel:  That is exactly what I mean!  I have birth control.  Doo Rag worked hard to ensure that I have birth control.  I have no intentions of having children.  They are whiny, needy, annoying creatures.  Explain this!
Me:  Dear, we all know that birth control is not 100% effective.  However, not having a child is not an option. Only you can secure the next generation of this family.  Perhaps it's best to have a child now while you are still young.
Janabel:  I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT 100!  THAT IS NOT THAT POINT!  ONE TIME.  ONE TIME AND THIS HAPPENS.  WHAT DID YOU DO?
Me:  Calm down, it's not good for the baby to be yelling like this.  I didn't 'do' anything, but apparently you did.  I promise once that baby is here you will realize how blessed you are to have a tiny piece of you to carry forward.
Janabel: UGH.

That went well...

Tifani Triumph: Life of Crime Years Part 2

Last we left Janabel had thrown a pretty vicious curve into the smooth, if not minimalistic, workings of this family. I think we might have raised a sociopath. We had made it together through the odds and seem to be smooth sailing. Never fear, given enough rope she will give the Almighty Ruler of Everything enough to reign her in.  Meanwhile Kaylynn worked hard, persevered and achieved The Law!  Something good had to come out of the last chapter.
Meanwhile little Samson has grown into a teenager.  He knows that he has no real place in the hierarchy.  Janabel has made that abundantly clear with her arrogance and condensation toward the 'spares'.  I think however, with recent events as they are I need to have a small conversation with Samson and give him a course for the future.
Me:  Samson!  Stop that right now!
Samson: Huh, um, Fizzy?
Me:  Please don't jump on the furniture.  Now sit down, you and I need to have a chat.
Samson:  Ok.  But I'm a spare remember, we don't need to have your 'chat'.
Me:  Oh dear sweet boy.  If you only knew.  Two things I need to share with you and both are very important.
Samson:  Cool.  Shoot.
Me:  Now that your Mom has become The Law it allows for you to actually move out of the house when you grow up.  Secondly, your sister has expressed some ideas, thoughts really, that lead me to believe the smartest thing you can do is get a job now.  Start a career, and move out of the house as soon as you can.  Or at least once Mom and Dad pass away.  I don't think staying here is going to be the best thing for you, or Delilah.
Samson:  I have to move out?  Wait?  Whoa.  I get to move out?  Yes!
Me:  Don't forget the job part.  There's no way to support yourself and keep yourself and future family safe if you don't actually have a job.
Samson:  Well gravy.  Um, do you have a list for me?
Me:  You don't need a list.  Any available career is yours for the taking.  Listen, we won't speak of this again but remember what I said.  Move out.  At the latest move out when Mom and Dad pass away but regardless.  Make a plan to get yourself out of this house and into your own.
Samson:  Cloak and dagger, I like it.  Thanks Fizzy.

While Samson is growing to a teen and trying to decide his future path little sister Delilah is growing into a precious child.
I'm so excited, and toes are crossed that hopefully she is nothing like her older sister!

Meanwhile, I guess we should get back to dear Janabel, the actual chosen heir of this family.  Would things be different if I'd noticed her tendency toward crazy when she was young?  Probably not, I really think losing her PawPaw was a catalyst for her.  And that couldn't have been predicted.

Janabel is rising fast in the teen career track as a criminal.  With her previous connections it only makes sense I guess.  Teach me to trust in cute little old people walking the neighborhood.  Should have know it was a criminal, nefarious element. Though we did get lucky with Kaylynn as a walkby.  Anyway, back on target.  Janabel has met someone she is convinced is perfect for her.  Let's call him Flattop, name remembrance isn't my forte remember. I'll get back to you with that later.  She's brought him home from work a couple of times and there seems to be a budding relationship there.
He is a little cutie, I know you can't see his face here so just trust me.  Janabel asked him to go steady and he accepted.  Here's hoping he makes better choices as an adult that he has as a teen in the career market.

Janabel has found her love, or whatever someone like her thinks love is, and is ready to become an adult and apparently lead the charge to unlock The Life of Crime career path for the community.  I mean I guess there is a good side in that we don't have to give away half our value every week.  But still.
Why yes, Janabel just became an adult.  And yes you do see that she went into immediate aspiration failure.  And by golly that shrink did show up to 'try' to help her.  I swear it wasn't intentional.  I honestly didn't even realize it was going to throw her into failure.  Not that I could have stopped a birthday, mind you.  I've tried in my own world very unsuccessfully.  I know it's mean to almost feel like I might be poking a bit of fun at her but how do you capture 'this moment' in just one photograph.  I completely deserved a collage and I will stand by that decision...until the next blog post.

Musings of the Maker

My name is Kristine Lawson. I have green eyes, dark hair and pale creamy skin. I am a bibliophile and an author. I live in a small cottage filled with books. I love books. I love how they smell. I love how they feel and how they make me feel.  Nothing makes me happier than quality time spent with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.

These are the things I know to be true. These facts  have made up my life and  I repeat them to myself when I question my sanity.  I am not unhappy. I have lived a fulfilling life surrounded by my beloved books.  It wasn't until recently that I began to lose my grip on reality and question if my life is all that I thought it was.

I feel like I've stepped into a book. Perhaps I am a bit like Katniss and I've entered into The Hunger Games.  I find that I am playing her little game. I remind myself of what I believe to be truths and try to figure out which of my current realities are real or not real.

See, lately I have strange dreams. In these dreams I am the "Maker," and when I wake, I am unsure which of the two realities is the real me.  Am I the author that I believed myself to be or am I the Maker?  The inability to tell fact from fiction is slowly driving me to the very edge of insanity.  I feel as if I am living out a dream within a dream and fear that I now understand the haunting life of Poe.

I spend my waking hours trying desperately to give a voice to the lives that I have either dreamed or created. Perhaps if I tell their story I will be less conflicted about their existence.

The details of their life and their dependency on me makes me fear that I am hopelessly lost. Yet, I long to dream again so that I can fulfill their desires and expectations.

I am their Maker. Without me, would they even exist? Would Jordan get her promotion? Would Ezra find love? Who would guide and direct their lives?  They need me and I fear that I might need them just as much as they need me.

Then I wonder about my life as Kristine. Am I the Maker of her too? Is someone else pulling the invisible strings of my own life? Will I get the next promotion or find love? Will I have children and grandchildren? Will I leave behind a legacy or will I only be remembered for the broken fragments of my mind?

I don't know the answer to these questions. I don't even know which version of myself is actually me.

I need to know which of my two lives is a reality and which is a dream.  I cannot possibly be both.

I just want to know who I am.  Am I the Maker? or am I Kristine?

Tifani Triumph: The Law Years Part 2/Life of Crime Years Part 1

Welcome back!  Looking back Janabel, the first girl child of the Apocalypse had just aged to a child after spending her toddler years been taught and coddled by her PawPaw.  We also lost Sophie to her date with Grim.
Shortly after Janabel's age transition her dear PawPaw also discovered that he had a date with Grim as well.  She was a blessed little girl to have been such a good, if not smothering during infancy, hobby for Adam. Adam worked hard during his teen and early adult years next to his dad in the medical field.  After Doo Rag actually managed to reach the pinnacle of the career field Adam chose to change paths to the Natural Science career.  On his first day of work Adam managed a random, correctly answered, chance card that rocketed him to Ecological Guru, providing sims near and far with gardens, flowers, trees, and lawns again.  Nothing really grows in the constant winter weather but the options are there once the climate is once again controlled.

Adam passed away in platinum aspiration and Grim appeared for a luau, hula girls and all, though they were sideways in the kitchen...still not sure how did managed that.

Moving forward, society may not forget Adam anytime soon, but there is more living to do.  And a unique situation, for me, to handle.  Isiah and Kaylynn both spun the want to have a baby.  At the same time.  Now, bear in mind that while the house is two story there is only an 8x8 footprint for the house.  And no one, no one, can move out for any reason just now.  Do I, as the Almighty Ruler of Everything, give them this want or deny it?  It was hard.  But then a misclick on my part and it happened anyway.  They are expecting, again.  My luck will be twins.  Please, no twins.  Toes totally crossed.
Not much later Janabel was graced with a little brother.  She's not sure, yet, how she feels about that but meet baby Samson.
Janabel is really struggling without her PawPaw.  Isiah and Sophie attempt to interest her in continuing her home education with little success.  She spends a lot of time in the cemetery and with some elderly neighborhood walkers.  Honestly she sorta pretends her brother doesn't exist.  Meanwhile Kaylynn keeps going to work everyday, happy, skills in place, requisite number of friends and no promotions.  Not even a chance card.  These guys are starting to bore me I tell ya. Samson grows into a cute toddler while Kaylynn and Isiah both want another child.  I must be drinking their crazy juice because I let them and along comes baby Delilah, another girl!  Kaylynn better get these promotions and unlock her career so that I can move these spares out!

Much like his father before him, only with his own children and not his grandchildren, Isiah ensures that Delilah gets a bottle every 5 minutes and never gets to sleep while also ensuring that Samson gets all of his toddler skills down pat.  When Delilah is born Kaylynn is just 3 days from elder.  At two days the woman pops another want for another child.  Lo and behold Isiah did as well!  I had to sit them down and have a wee chat about Simopause and how it was not, could not, even if it could over my dead body was not happening.  Did Doo Rag not educate them?  I mean he was a medical pioneer, he had to know this stuff!  No! More! Babies!

Kaylynn is making slow progress up the career ladder as the season turns to a bunch of birthdays. Janabel turns to a teen, Samson a child, Delilah a toddler and Kaylynn an elder all over two days time!
With no pressure for Janabel to have to get a job right away as the family is more than loaded, even with paying the weekly protection fees, I just let her know where her options lie and let tell her to get back to me when she's decided.  Not even 24 hours later she requested a private meeting in the upstairs bedroom.
Janabel: Hey, Almighty?  Can we chat?
Me:  Must be serious, calling me that.  You must want something.
Janabel:  Not really want.  But I've made a decision.
Me: Oh?
Janabel:  I've decided my future.  I'd already decided it long before now but well you know.
Me:  Well, I don't know.  What have you decided?
Janabel:  You know the silver hairs?
Me: The what?!
Janabel:  The Silver Hairs?  You know the OLD people I visit with?
Me: Oh, yeah.  So?
Janabel:  I've been running numbers for them for years.  I've got a pretty sweet gig going and I want to continue it. With my connections I could be the Criminal Mastermind in no time.
Me: What? Wait? WHAT! You?  Do you know who your Great Grandma was?
Janabel: Yea.  No one ever lets me forget.
Me: And you want to be a criminal?  Have you, by chance, met your parents?
Janabel:  Unfortunately.
Me:  Your dad is Captain Hero and your mom is almost The Law.  Do you seriously think this is even an option?
Janabel:  It's the only option.  And honestly, it's already done.  I've got a sweet job as a street hawker downtown.
Me:  Your dad?  You would seriously put your dad in a position to have to explain to the entire police force that his daughter is a criminal?
Janabel:  Please.  I'm not going to get caught.  He never has to know.
Me:  Your dad.  Never has to know?  For the love of tomatoes, he's Captain Hero.  He'll know.
Janabel:  Fizz.  Chill.  He's old.  He's retired.  He has the two spares to keep him occupied.  He'll never know.
Me:  Ok. If you want to try to convince yourself of that.  Mom?  I mean seriously. Law.  Lawyer.  Going be The Law if she doesn't die trying.  What do you want her to tell her law abiding coworkers and friends when you get caught and need representation?
Janabel: Enough with the get caught!  I'm not getting caught.  And again.  She's old.  She has the two spares when she's not trying to get the next promotion.  Maybe you forgot where I said it's done.  I'm in the life of crime career.  It's where I want to be.  I have connections.  I promise you this is a no brainer.  It has to be unlocked anyway, right?
Me:  Well, maybe by a spouse.  A few generations down.  Not by the daughter of Captain Hero and The Law.
Janabel:  We're done here.  Thanks for your time.  And for keeping my secret.  Because I know you will  You have to to save your own face.  Bye Fizz!
“Nice place you have. I’d hate to see anything bad happen to it.”
The local organized crime family has taken advantage of the lawlessness in the region to set up a protection racket. Joey “The Comb” and his goons force people to pay hefty sums to ensure nothing “bad” happens to what few possessions they have left. While some try to fight the mob, most just give in and pay.
This girl is about to drive me batty.  She seemed so sweet and innocent.  Where did everything go sideways?  Where did this attitude come from because it surely isn't genetic.  I'm wondering if I should be worried about the lives of her parents.  There's so much venom there I almost fear she might do something drastic.  But she is right.  I will not be the one to tell them what she is about.  I just can't bear to break their hearts.  That's her decision, her place.  If she does so chose to tell them I will do my best to pick up the pieces.

While Janabel is out persuing her criminal activity Isiah is throwing himself into helping Delilah achieve toddler skills and that Samson is trying to stay grounded. He knows he's a spare. He knows that there is no real goal or pressure for him.  And he's soaking it all in.  There's a lazy way to do everything.  Literally everything.  Kaylynn is anything but lazy and has worked hard, stayed focused, and managed to secure the future of the law for generations to come.  Kaylynn is The Law.
Just a side note:  those snowmen look angry!

The Sim who becomes The Law restores the code of laws to the region, and the foundation is set for other parts of society to be restored. The Law restrictions are lifted. Now non-heir sims may move out and found their own family lot.
I leave you with no words.  No words of wisdom. No words of encouragement.  Janabel has left me speechless.  (Yes, you should mark that on the calendar!)  I'm so proud of Kaylynn and her perseverance forward to finish her career ladder, despite taking time to have 3 children.  I'm so proud of Isiah and the father he became.  I look forward to watching the spares grow up and find their own way now that they can.  And I'm terrified to see what step Janabel takes next.

Jordan Talia Montgomery: Generation 3 Chapter 1

In the last chapter we saw the life of Elena and Edwin pass us by rapidly. These two  seized life, flew through promotions and have been busy raising their daughter Jordan and their son, Ezra.

Unfortunately I got so caught up in playing Jordan as a child that I forgot to take many pictures to update on the humdrum daily of life for Elena and Edwin

Be sure to catch up before jumping right into generation three!

Life is continuing for the Montgomery Family. Jordan Talia is nearly an adult and still has  no romantic love interests. She's been promoted to a assistant nurse and is putting in a lot of extra hours.  She has had a very loving relationship with both of her parents so it hurts a little that she was passed out from exhaustion when dear old dad's time came to an end.  Even worst, little Ezra is not yet a teen and already losing his dad—his mom is getting on up in years as well.

Bills are rather pricey these days (nearly §8000 every Monday) but luckily the family's pretty set thanks to Grandma Ember and mama Elena's hard work and dedication.  There's enough funds in the bank that the family won't struggle as they transition into this new stage of life.

Elena was just crushed when she lost Edwin. I feel like I just didn't have enough time with them. Things were SO easy for this generation that it just flew by. As I said, I didn't even get many pictures of Jordan's childhood because things just moved so fast.

Nevertheless, Elena's grief just made me sad...I know, it's just a  game but I felt her despair.

Time for Elena was quickly wrapping up too and Jordan was almost an adult and still didn't have a single love interest.  Suddenly, losing her dad made her really long to find a husband before she lost her mom to old age as well.

So, out Jordan hit the town and it wasn't long that she met this hottie named Ricky Vinson.  They really connected and it wasn't long before they were really good friends. When it came to romance though, he was so extremely stubborn. I would have them flirt and he would get upset. Jordan was getting older though and determined to snag her soulmate before dear old mom met her maker (psst! I don't actually meet my sims when they die but if it ever happens? I'll let you know)

Try as I might to get them to fall in love it just didn't happen...at least not in time for dear Elena to see her daughter happily married.   At least Jordan was able to properly mourn the loss of her mother though. She was dead tired from a busy day at work but at least she didn't faceplant during such an important life event.

Speaking of that busy day at work?   Well, it might have involved an unnecessary surgery on this freaky looking dude that looks like a clown and yes...it cost her a promotion.  What a terrible day altogether.

Moving along now...

Elena lies cold in her grave and Jordan is determined that Ricky Vinson will be hers—regardless.   A friend of mine, the Almighty Ruler of Everything (AKA Fizzy) suggested that maybe Jordan wasn't the right gender for Ricky but by golly...Jordan needs a man and a man she will have!  She wants Ricky and it is Ricky she will have!

So, she totally abused their friendship and asked him to move in. He readily agreed to this arrangement and the minute he moved in, I pulled my god-like powers of persuasion on him.

In other words? I sent them both to watch the romance channel and then I forced him to flirt with her.  A couple flirty interactions later and Jordan and Ricky were having their first kiss. The Maker always gets what she wants. ALWAYS.

Things moved to the bedroom where they had their first woohoo. Jordan ran to the bathroom and took a pregnancy test because her biological clock is tickin' and bam...bun in the oven!  She ran back to the bedroom and announced that they were going to be parents. Knocked up—he is hers now. He doesn't have a job and can't afford child support so he is stuck! This hottie isn't getting away. Nope! She proposed to a half naked Ricky right then and there!
Half naked Ricky was so excited that he accepted the proposal and they eloped. Whatever was he waiting for? Why wait now? Who needs clothes to get married? Besides, have you seen those abs? I feel like taking a page out of Fizzy's book and giving him some ridiculous nickname like "Man Candy" or "Mr. Washboard Abs"
Ricky Vinson- Family Oriented|Good|Foodie|Essence of Flavor|Aspiration: Master Mixologist

Jordan is entirely too driven to consider a honeymoon.  The day after these two eloped she was back to work and being promoted to R.N.

Ezra is busy working on becoming an author so that he can write Elena's autobiography before he moves out to start his own family.  Nothing super exciting to report about him. As the spare heir he's just along for the ride.

Sometimes I think of Ezra which makes me think of Prince Harry and for a moment I feel bad for Harry (and Ezra) because you know? It must really stink to be the spare. Especially when the spare has an heir and you're even further down the totem pole. I'm tellin' ya...that must really whomp! Who makes these rules anyway?

Baby #1 was born, a son that was named Oscar Quinn. Unfortunately, Jordan is halfway to elder and she really needed a daughter to carry on the Montgomery name. Which means that Ricky is having to take care of little  Oscar because Jordan had to get pregnant again right away in hopes for an heir.

The day after Oscar was born, Jordan was promoted to General Practitioner.  Which is great because the bills are burning through the savings that Elena and Ember left for the family.  Large houses aren't cheap and I definitely have more bills than Ricky and Jordan make in a week.

All and all, this generation is shaping up nicely.  I'm very grateful for the savings I've secured for this generation. Nothing quite compares to the thousands in royalties that the family had gotten used to living on, that's for sure! The future however is still looking pretty bright!

On that note, I will leave you with one last look at how things were and a chance to say goodbye to Generation 2's Elena and Edwin.

Be sure to tune in next time to see Oscar's transition into a child and the birth of baby #2!  Will Jordan have her heir or will she fail in her matriarchal reign? Only time will tell!

Tifani Triumph: The Law Enforcement Years Part 2/The Law Years Part 1

Last we met Isiah had grown into an adult.  Personally all I could think was 'how many generations before we can breed out ol' Doo Rags nose?'. My second thought however became much more important. Isiah doesn't have a girlfriend, he doesn't even have a female friend at all.  Gotta find the boy a woman, so to the streets we went...literally.
Isiah and Adam (because he needs a different hobby) start stalking the window for potentially eligible female walkbys of the house.  Isiah spotted Kaylynn one afternoon and despite looking eligible Isiah thought she looked pretty good all the way around and ran out to greet her.  It took four days of interactions and a lot of flirting for Isiah to convince her to move in, she wasn't near as easy as Sophie that is for certain.
Once Isiah convinced her to move in Adam tried to work on his other potential hobby, since getting a stove, and made a celebratory dinner, hoping his son would seal the deal and manage an engagement on the same day.  However, Adam is older.  Somehow the encroaching senility missed my Almighty razor sharp senses.  And he puts the turkey in the oven and walks away distracted.  And sets the kitchen on fire.  And everyone panics and runs to the fire instead of away.  And while good son Isiah is trying to save the kitchen he ends up also saving the woman he loves.  Yes Adam almost killed Kaylynn before she could even get engaged.  I didn't get pictures, sorry, was too busy trying to save her life.  Charcoal Turkey for dinner it is.  And Isiah decided to give her a few days to recover before trying to convince Kaylynn to join the family that tried to kill her.

When Isiah did propose Kaylynn accepted immediaely.  He then had a big decision to make.  Be the first in his family to not be pregnant when rings were exchanged and propose the marriage immediately (which he really didn't want) or wait a bit and then finalize the deal.  Kaylynn really really really wanted to get married, so they did.  You can see Isiah's reaction...not that he didn't totally love her mind you!

Off to the master they two lovebirds went to secure the next generation and seriously 4 tries for her to become pregnant.  I don't think that has ever happened to me in Sims 2 before.  Usually I click the wrong option on accident and end up with twins...go figure.  However, it's time for Kaylynn and I to have a wee chat about career choices.

Me: So, Sophie, I see you are in the culinary career right now.  How do you like it?
Kaylynn:  It's ok.  Definitely not what I expected.
Me:  Really?
Kaylynn: Can I tell you a secret?  Like cross your heart just between us secret?
Me:  Of course dear :S
Kaylynn:  I only chose to follow culinary because of Sophie.  She made it seem so glamorous and easy.  But it's really not.  Fast food is the pits!  Truth is the night I met Isiah I had recently learned where she lived and was hoping to be able to actually see her.
Me: So you are stalking her?!
Kaylynn: NO!  Not like that.
Me:  So, you are using her son and the love he has developed for you to get to her?
Kaylynn:  Heaven's No!  I love Isiah.  I've loved him almost since I met him.  Sophie is actually the reason I denied his requests for so long.  She is amazing and I would love to be as good as her some day but she also scares the gravy out of me.
Me:  Um hm. So, how do you feel about the culinary career for your future?
Kaylynn:  I'm open to change you could say.  I could never be a Sophie.
Me:  Good.  Here are some career choices available to you. Take your time but not too long.  Select one you would like to pursue.

The law in the region has all but vanished. There are no checks, no balances. While the threat of lawsuits has dropped, all the GOOD things with the court systems have vanished as well. Without law in the region, even the greatest people cannot permanently restore parts of society.

If I'm honest, I'm still not entirely sure that Kaylynn isn't a stalker using Isiah but I guess I'll keep an eye on her and try to give her the benefit of the doubt...for now.  She chose the Law career and her and Isiah went together to Central Dispatch for her to apply and be tested into the Law Career.  She was hired on as a Law Firm Receptionist.  To be fair she does throw herself into the work, says she loves it, all thoughts of how 'great' Sophie is seem to dissipate.  She actually stops being so dang awkward around her.  Before too long Kaylynn and Sophie bond over the coming grandchild and became good friends.

Speaking of Sophie, she is still choosing to work 3 days a week. Her and Adam are also still very much in love.  Adam is struggling to find a hobby that I will approve of.  No pets. I've had to limit his kitchen privileges after almost killing his now daughter-in-law and he has maxed out all of his skills.  He plays a lot of piano and chess and sneaks off with Sophie whenever I'm not watching to close.  I've caught them making out in the front yard, the backyard, the side yard, the bathroom...you get the idea.  One day I noticed he wasn't around the house.  They were in the family cemetary dancing together.  Not sure if it was an honor dance for his gone parents or if he was dancing on their graves.  You decide...
Somebody needs to upkeep the cemetery a bit better!

Their romance was very much alive right to the end.  She was actually just leaving the master bedroom after some 'couple time' when her date with Grim arrived.  Sadly Sophie passes away before the baby is born and misses out on the opportunity to be a Granma. But she did truly live her love with Adam to the fullest. (Even in only her underwear when Grim arrived...trying really hard to keep the photos from the tabloids and SMZ.) Sophie Triumph was an interesting life.  A sweet seeming medically oriented teenager to a bad attitude criminal.  When she joined the family it took all the patience I had not to find a way to eliminate her.  But, with little encouragement (ha!) she went on to find something she was passionate about and did well for herself, her family and her community.  Sophie will truly be a legend for generations to come.
After losing Sophie, Adam's new hobby becomes wailing all day every day at her grave.  However, it's not too long before a new baby is ready to make way into the family.  And Adam finds a new hobby.

The first girl born after the Apocalypse, the moment Adam sets his sights on Janabel his new 'hobby' is found.  Adam dotes on her every need.  Want a bottle?  No?  You sick?  You mean I gave you one 5 minutes ago?  Your sleepy?  But I want to hold you. Over. And. Over. And. Over again.
Before long Janabel becomes a precocious toddler and Adam makes it his mission in life to teach her EVERYTHING.  Literally everything.  She may or may not have sat with him reading mom's law textbooks.
While Janabel is busy bonding with her PawPaw (being his hobby and all) Isiah is working strongly toward becoming Captain Hero at work.  Losing Sophie cost him some much needed friendships on the career path but a well placed chance card secured him the position.  He came home quite happy that day indeed!
Once a brave hero from the family emerges, the streets are cleaned up and order is restored, allowing police and firefighters to once again help people. The Law Enforcement restrictions are lifted. The smoke detector and burglar alarm may be purchased and used, even if the Science restriction has not been lifted.
The family, and community, is thrilled to have Captain Hero on the local police force...and the use of smoke detectors.  Would been real handy a bit back when Adam tried to toast the house...literally.

Adam has done an amazing job with his Granddaughter and she emerges from the toddler years with all the basics (except one little tick on potty training) under her wings.  We will close this chapter with little Janabel becoming a child.  Until next time...
Please let that nose not pass on to yet another generation!
